Major job duties/accountabilities As described in Mold Maker (Die Cast) (Plastic) Exhibit A - Program Provisions, in order to obtain well-rounded training and thereby qualify as a skilled worker in the trade, the apprentice shall have experience and training in the following areas.
This instruction and experience shall include the following operations but not necessarily in the sequence given. Time spent on specific operations need not be continuous. Work processes include:
Perform precision measurement and inspection, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, using prints of drawings, if applicable, and cutting tools. Milling, Including Manual and/or CNC Controlled Drilling, Including Manual and/or CNC Controlled Turning, Including Manual and/or CNC Controlled EDM, Including Manual and/or CNC Controlled Grinding (Precision), Including Manual and/or CNC Controlled Cut-Off, Including Manual and/or CNC Controlled Materials and Metallurgy Shop Cleanup Jigs and Fixtures Mold Making Bench Work/Layout (Assembly) CAD/CAM, Program and plan CNC, Design molds, fixtures and die Paid Related Instruction in tool & die related skills. Will be required to attend formal class room training All educational requirements must be completed within a five year, 10,080 hour apprenticeship period.
Credit for previous work/learning can be applied. All employees in this program will be on probation for a period of 2080 hours. Performance will be reviewed by the Joint Apprenticeship Committee.
Responsible for observing safe work habits and cleanliness of work area. Proceeds under general supervision. Performs other duties as may be requested.

Tool & Die Maker Journeyman
Plan and construct a wide variety of tools, dies, fixtures and gauges to very close tolerances, or construct more complex units where design is available.
Perform development work, layout and difficult tool room machine operations, fitting, timing and adjusting, e.g. combination dies for parts or irregular contour, box type drill jigs with difficult locating or nesting features, ordinary index milling fixtures.
Dismantles and repairs or replaces parts of damaged dies and fixtures, fits and assembles parts, and tests repaired dies for proper operation.
Operates cranes safely to remove and/or relocate dies to specific work stations/equipment.
Establishes and maintains an effective preventative maintenance program. Ensures all tools are properly fit for use.
Prepares sketches for machining of tool details.
Performs basic layout inspections of both tooling and manufactured components in press.
Must have all tools common to trade practice
Proficient in reading and working with blueprints.
Capable of working with varied ranges of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Proficient in workshop theory and calculation.
Overhead Crane Operation.
Ability to work with SPC.
Participates in ongoing Continuous Improvement processes.
Takes direction from Supervisor/Lead Hand, as applicable.
Protects own health and safety by working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures.
Maintains safety standard and cleanliness of workplace and equipment as outlined by company policy.

Job Description & Requirements
The Cheese Maker is responsible for ensuring optimum quality products through batching and processing of various product families following regulatory standards, ensuring the product and process is clean and sterile. The Cheese Cook is also responsible for maintaining and cleaning all equipment in assigned area.
Familiarity with all applicable cheese making equipment and provide quality inspections on all related items.
Test, monitor and batch all products in accordance to established procedures and policies.
Ensure curd is over and processed as soon as possible to protect curd freshness and texture.
Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information.
Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's.
Analyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot.
Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.
Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
Perform other duties as assigned.

The primary responsibilities of the journeypersons and apprentices of the toolmaker bench trade are as follows:
Responsible for maintenance and repair of hoppers, escapements, bowls, tracking or tubes, and lower indexes, arbors, hone pots, tool clamp, clamp wedge systems, collets, all moving pallets fixture, Gatco bearings, poppets and center line position.
Responsible for maintenance and repair of all parts loader/unloaders.
Responsible for tool clamp faults and collet assembly (HDE).
Responsible for HDE Con Rod Operation 20 and 50 change over.
Responsible for maintenance and realignment all gantries, load and unload part location for true position.
Responsible for maintenance and repair of all linear bearings on all fixtures, probe plates, part alignment, part gripper and transfer fingers and bolts.
Responsible for maintenance and repair of all generating heads.
Responsible for the installation, repair and removal of all bushing plates, fixture plates, and probe plates (Pipefitter responsible for nozzle maintenance and sizing).
Responsible for locating pins, rest pads, guide rails, rollers which consist of Osborn, McGill and cam rollers, as well as and brass pads for control arms.
Responsible for installation of spacers and shims with alignment of centerline fixtures.

Journeyman Tool & Die Maker (Stamping)
Qualifications:Must be able to demonstrate proficiency and skill appropriate to the job in the areas of shop mathematics, heat treatment techniques, blueprint reading, job layout skills, machine tool operation skills, tool design techniques, fitting and assembly.
Experience & Education: Must have successfully completed an apprenticeship training program and have a certification of completion along with 7+ years of experience in a metal stamping facility as a Tool & Die Maker.

Tool & Gage Maker (2Nd Shift) - Pm/84
Perform a variety of tool and gage making functions with assistance and direction from Sr. Tool & Gage Makers to support various machines and equipment within the business unit and other areas of the facility.
Typical tasks include, but are not limited to the following:
Read and work from blueprints, sketches, drawings, and piece samples, layout durable tools for the purpose of machining and/or inspection
Perform machining processes to conduct alterations and necessary repairs on tools, gages and fixtures
Understand the use and care of basic hand tools and precision measuring equipment to complete complex compound angled set-ups
Perform set-ups with proficiency, in a safe manner
Ensure that all fixtures and gages (simple and complex) are calibrated and/or fabricated to specifications
Provide written and verbal technical support to internal and external customers
Understand and work to the Pratt & Whitney tool-related procedures
Fabricate and Calibrate ID/OD gages for inspection of diameters; precisely compute compound angles
