The Order Filler II is responsible for repacking 100 lb master coils and netting wire that supports the Keystone Steel & Wire value stream. The wire is presented to the employee in the work location on a beam. The employee fills customer orders by cutting the wire using a hand held wire cutter or automatic wire cutter into 10 lb bundles. The employee bands 10 of the 10 pound bundles together into a 100 lb master coil. The employee moves the 100 lb master coil into a shipping rack using a hoist. The employee also performs computer and barcode scanner transactions.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Cut wire into 10 lb bundles and band them together with wire into 100 lb bundles per customer work order.
Complete transactions in a barcode/scanner computer system to generate label.
Labels master coil prior to shipping according to customer order.
Package material to meet quality standards.
Maintain parts inventory and supplies.
Return unused or extra parts to appropriate location.
Understand and complete daily 5S.
Train coworkers through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Basic personal computer skills required.
Able to use hand scanner, weight scale and a hoist required.
Able to verify part numbers against part number on label required.
Able to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel is required.
Able to alphabetize, count, read and identify and distinguish colors is required.
Able to read and comprehend work orders is required.

Managespaperwork to DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards. Completes quality controlsheets as required.
Understandshazards of various gases; size and contents of cylinders by reading andinterpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks. Accurately labelscylinders.
Complieswith all government and company standards relating to the safe handling ofhazardous materials/cylinder gases.
Maintainsa neat, clean and orderly plant appearance.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
We are currently seeking experienced Order Fillers at Standard Motor Products, Inc.
Engine Management's Distribution Center.
You will work in a fast-paced distribution facility filling customer orders. Associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality. Associates are expected to comply with all corporate and site-specific policies while meeting performance standards
Requirements (include but not limited to):
Load boxes on a picking cart using Voice or RF scanning unit, Receives and gives voice commands to direct work. Walks up and down aisles picking items off of racking, scanning the items and putting the items into a tote.
After picking parts, loads them into appropriate box. Slides filled boxes off of the cart onto the conveyor.
All associates are responsible for executing all safety protocols and will accomplish all job tasks in a manner that promotes safety. Associates will comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/SDS Standards.
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
At least two years recent experience as an Order Filler utilizing Voice/RF technology in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment

This position is responsible for all functions relating to operating of the filling equipment include cleaning (CIP) and sanitizing.

Major Contributing Activities:
Assembles components in proper sequence using appropriate devices. Visually inspects assemblies for proper fit of components, operates test jigs, records readings or results.
Manually fills or operates filling equipment for type of product and sizes of containers specified. Labels tubes, or containers, apply labels to boxes, cans, pails, etc. Operates label application equipment.
Puts packaged product into boxes, seals boxes by manually applying tape or operating a taping machine. Inserts components into bags or containers per instructions and seals bag on a sealing machine. Completes assembly for the number of tubes, containers, labels or other items required for each work order; performs basic calculations to determine amounts of material required to complete work order.
Lifts filled boxes of components from stand; places on pallets or stack in assigned area. Awareness of hazard code labels; follows approved precautions and procedures. Participates in 5S activities.
Complies with Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and procedures at all times. Performs other tasks as assigned.
At least one year of directly applicable experience preferred. Must be able to effectively read, write, and communicate in English and to follow written and verbal instructions.

The Filler Operator is responsible for ensuring optimum quality products through the operation of the filler of various product families following regulatory standards, ensuring the product is clean and sterile.
Clean, set-up, operate and monitor equipment of the production line.
