Summary
The NC Tech A Operator will setup and operates CNC Lathes as well as inspect parts to blueprints using precise measuring tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Setup and run LB Lathes
Measure and inspect various features to close tolerances using calipers and micrometers
Read and interpret complex blueprints, planning sheets, sketches and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences
Selects and installs cutting tools, mount fixtures and work pieces, and load programs required
Calculate and set machine controls to position spindle in relationship to work piece
Select and set cutting tools as well as cutting depths, speeds and feeds required to produce parts per drawing requirement
Be proficient in the use of precision measuring tools, such as micrometers, calipers, indicators and height gauges
Ensure parts are per print, work order standards are met, daily clean up is maintained
Run jobs in order set by the scheduler or lead
Count, properly box and move work order, parts to the next operation. Also, move the work order location on the computer
Perform other duties as assigned

CNC Lathe Operator - 3Rd Shift
Position description
The CNC Lathe Operator on 3rd Shift will perform tasks associated with the machining of molded Thermoplastic and Thermoset materials used in the Aerospace and Industrial industries. This position is responsible for operation of CNC machining centers and performing simple set-ups on CNC machines.
Use safe practices and comply with all company policies, procedures and health, safety and environmental regulations, as required.
Conduct safety observations and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) activities as required by our plant EHS program. Handle raw material in an environmentally responsible manner.
Follow all safety requirements pertaining to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and operation of equipment.
Maintains work space before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles.
Complete all paperwork correctly, legibly and honestly.
Contribute towards continuous improvement processes and projects in the areas of output, quality, cost and delivery.
Ability to identify and escalate problems as they arise within the department.
Demonstrate efficiency in operating CNC equipment with little supervision.
Make quality parts that meet customer specifications and deadlines, with minimal scrap, in a fast paced work environment.

The Machine Operator is responsible for producing machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies in a fast paced machine shop environment.
