Act as the point of contact for customers. Assist in setting and maintaining plan-o-grams and programs. Stock merchandise adequately. Perform other duties as necessary to maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, and teamwork, while protecting company assets.
DUTIES and ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Follow company work processes to receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise in stock room or move directly to sales floor.

Machine Operator - Sauter Straightener Operator
Perform a variety of duties to set up and operate 1 to 2 NC controlled automatic band saw/strip straighteners (Sauter Straightener) including auxiliary equipment (ink jet printer, rust preventative applicator, plastic strip applicator, etc.). Work from schedules, specifications, coil ID tags, computer control programs, written or verbal instructions. Duties require close visual attention, manual coordination and dexterity in setting up, operating and monitoring operation of equipment, NC controllers and vision systems. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude is essential. Use a variety of hand tools and precision measuring devices.
Operator must be computer literate and capable of working with Windows based PC systems.
Perform set-ups (mechanical and software based) to accommodate a variety of sizes of incoming materials. Proper setup and adjustment for this operation is critical to minimize the affect of material weight/positioning on straightness/convexity. Monitor and quickly (120 ft/min line speed) make on the fly adjustments to straightening parameters as required. Ability to measure strip characteristics and make mechanical and/or software adjustments to calibrate measuring systems.
Visually inspect for coil set, camber and convexity. Use of Vernier caliper, .0001" resolution micrometer, convexity gages, 18" camber gage and 10' camber table.
Check coils to be straightened and coil tag for previous operation. Load/unload coils using proper lifting techniques (hoist). Thread material through various rollers, guides, support surfaces, counter balances. Monitor operation and input adjustments as necessary.
Perform routine maintenance operations and checks. Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition. Detect and report any material defects, equipment malfunctions, unusual situations or other problems to the supervisor. Follow all safety rules, regulations and practices.
Observe and obey all safety rules, regulations and practices.
Perform other similar or related duties as assigned or directed by supervisor.

1.GENERAL SUMMARY (What does the position do?):
Responsible for straightening, grinding, welding, and otherwise bringing parts into spec. Also uses various dimensional tools, fixtures, and ultrasonic tools to determine the specs of a part, and make appropriate determinations as to the best way to bring the part into tolerance limits. Works closely with the salvage analyst, grinding, welding, and CMM.
2.MAJOR DUTIES (List duties in order of time spent on them, with the most first):
Be accountable for working safely by following all safety rules and safe work practices.
Always consider safety before action.
Use dimensional tools (calipers, dyers, Ultrasonic, etc.) and fixtures to determine if a part is out of spec.
Use blueprints, tech cards, and other instructions to determine the specs and tolerances of a part.
Determine the best method to rework a part and bring it back into spec without causing damage.
Straighten, heat, bend, push, pull, and otherwise move the part back into tech card and blueprint tolerances.
Use pneumatic drills to target parts for machining to blueprint specs.
Follow written and verbal instruction and work as a team member.
Work and interact in a positive and professional manner with support departments, including engineering, quality, and other manufacturing areas.
Train Straightening Mechanic as needed.
Work outside department as required.
Develop rework plans with other departments.
Other duties as assigned.

WHY IS THE ROLE IMPORTANT:
The US beer market has undergone a radical transformation in the last 30 years, and is now the most dynamic and vibrant in the world. To leverage this environment, Guinness is building a new brewery on the site of the historic Calvert Distillery in Baltimore County, five miles from Baltimore International Airport, 10 miles from downtown Baltimore and 30 miles from Washington DC.
The new brewery will be a spiritual home for Guinness in the US, comprising a medium-scale 100 hL Brewhouse to produce c. 80K bbl of Guinness Blonde American Lager per annum, a new visitor center with taproom and restaurant, and a 10 hL experimental brewhouse that will be a test kitchen for new Guinness beers. There will also be a 2bbl pilot brewing system. There will be a focus on barrel-aging and experimentation.
Reporting into the Senior Brewer, the Brewers will be responsible for hands on operation of the 100 hL and 10 bbl brewing systems. They will be responsible for raw material inventory, receiving and usage.
They will work with Asset Care to diagnose and troubleshoot problems. They will work closely with the Senior Brewer and Quality to develop SOPs and to ensure standards are met. They will also work with the Brewmaster and Head Brewer on innovation and barrel aging projects including recipe development.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
An experienced, creative, solutions-oriented Brewer with a deep passion for beer, the industry, quality and a strong sense of integrity. Candidates will have at least three years of commercial brewing experience and formal brewing qualifications a plus.
Our new Brewers will be confident operating a scale brewing system and will have a rigorous approach to quality standards and an absolute commitment to making outstanding beer. Barrel-aging experience will be a significant plus. Prior experience starting up large and small brewing systems along with recipe formulation a plus.
