POSITION SUMMARY: The Basket Stacker is responsible for adding empty cook baskets to the catch machine, manually lifting baskets and palletize the baskets of potatoes on to pallets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Placing empty cook baskets on the catcher machine without interruption.
Identifying and removing damaged baskets.
Properly fill out pallet tickets and place on pallets.
Rotating to a variety of stacking/catching positions in the department.
Continually placing filled baskets of potatoes onto pallets.
Assuring that each basket is filled properly with high quality potatoes and that it is placed properly on the pallet.
Effectively communicating relevant information to fellow employees on the shift and to on-coming employees at shift change.
General cleaning of equipment and maintaining good housekeeping throughout the department per the daily sanitation checklist.
Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

. The selected individual will work as a team member with current staff in providing quality analysis services at various livestock auctions throughout the region. This is an exciting career opportunity for an individual who has knowledge of the livestock marketing industry.
Minimum Qualifications Working knowledge of production and marketing practices for livestock
(preferably in Virginia), especially cattle, sheep, goats and swine is needed as well as the ability to interpret USDA Grade Standards for livestock and make sound decisions based on these standards. Computer proficiency and the ability to work effectively with the general public, agricultural community, and government officials is also essential.
Proven ability to handle high stress situations effectively; to work independently with minimal supervision; and to make proper decisions regarding daily work related activities is important. This position involves considerable physical activity and the ability to work in close proximity to all classes of livestock. Physical demands include work in dusty, muddy and noisy conditions; standing for long periods of time, driving, and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds; and some repetitive motions and working outdoors in extreme cold or heat.
