An established chemical blending, processing and manufacturing company in the Pasadena area is seeking an experienced Chemical Plant Batch Blender/Operator that can work rotating day and evening shifts.

- Strong knowledge of plant safety
- Ability to read and follow SOP's for making a blend
- Ability to wear PPE such as half and full face respirators, supplied air, rain boots for extended periods, rain suit, etc.
- Daily tasks will include bending, climbing, and lifting up to 75 lbs.

Batch operator works independently to mix/combine and process – both liquid and dry ingredients to existing formula.
Dry materials come in 55 lb. bags and need to be lifted and measured as part of loading the mixing machine. Liquid ingredients come in 55 gallon drums. Batch operators needs to handle both the dry and wet bulk ingredients.
Mixed and tested material is then bulk packaged and supplied to our packaging operation.

Batch Operator follows the established testing procedure to assure mixed materials meet performance standards as set by the company. Adjustments are made to each batch to assure the proper physical characteristics. All materials are weighed before being added to batches. Accuracy and attention to detail is an essential quality for the batch operator. All measurements and recording of materials used needs to be exact.
Adjustment of batches requires math proficiency in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division along with fractions and percentages. This also includes the ability to organize and solve word problems using basic math skills.
Written / Computer Skills
Batch operator is responsible for recording batch results and history. Batch operator uses a computer to access the company ERP system for production schedule, batch schedules and recording batch information.
Batch operator is responsible for safety, organization and cleanliness in the mixer area and manages the storage of bulk materials in the warehouse area.
Batch operator also performs routine machine maintenance on the mixing equipment.
Read, Write and Speak English
Batch operator must be able to communicate and work with other employees. Coordination between material mixing and packaging is essential to prioritize batch schedules. Fluent in English – able to communicate thoughts and understand instructions that are both written and verbal.

This manufacturing company is offering an immediate, full-time position for a Batch Maker/Tow Motor Operator. You will be working outside mixing acidic materials, working with nickel-alkaline, and using a tow motor to carry 300 pound drums. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
