Packaging Operator - Mix Pack
We are looking for an amazing Packaging Operator to join the Mix Pack team!
As a Packaging Operator, you will perform packaging activities efficiently and safely, incorporating quality in every case within company specifications and schedules. Must be able to work any shift in a 24 hour period.
Maintain packaging lines, including starting and stopping of equipment.
Effectively communicate to Warehouse personnel any and all goods which will need to be returned back to inventory if / when not used.
Maintain quality requirements in accordance with company standards. Responsible for reporting all quality defects or issues/concerns.
Ability to work in all assigned areas of mixed pack line; perform relief duties when required.
Perform package change-overs on equipment as required. Use of hand tools to perform change-overs.
Read and understand basic ruler / tape measurements for equipment set ups.
Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment as needed.
Perform basic troubleshooting on equipment as needed.
Load corrugate, glue pellets, ink, stretch wrap, etc. into appropriate machines.
Watch flow of packaging materials into appropriate machine. Clear jams if necessary.
Ensure that all equipment is on and functioning properly prior to starting a run.
Must do visual inspection of boxes to ensure proper box/tray is used and the graphics on the box/tray are acceptable. Must ensure proper coding is on the bottle, cans, and boxes/trays
Report any major defects or quality issues to the shift lead or supervisor.
Monitor machines while running. Check to see that all bottles/cans are packed into boxes and on pallets correctly.
Ability to fill gaps at our main production facility in Escondido, CA when needed.
Understand and follow safety rules including safe lifting practices and safe machine operation. Personal Protective Equipment is to be used where required.
Housekeeping: maintain general housekeeping in all areas of production, including the break rooms and rest rooms. Bale plastic, cardboard and contaminated bottles/cans/kegs when needed; dispose of materials when needed. Keep work area clean at all times.
Ensure that all packaging equipment and the packaging area are completely 100% clean and sanitary, ready for the following day's or shift's production.
Operate forklift in safe and efficient manner. Stage/move/load/unload materials.
Handle chemicals according to proper safe handling procedures

Education: High School diploma or GED
Experience: Previous bottle, can or keg filling experience is preferred. Previous forklift experience preferred.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ignition program and AX knowledge is a plus.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Forklift certification preferred but not required
Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written.

Lead Mix Operator
This operator is responsible for the processing of bulk and containerized solids through the bulk solids processing building. This includes operation of Prentice backhoe, shredder and conveyor feed system for the incinerator.
Responsibilities include waste tracking recordkeeping, minor maintenance, guiding other operators in off-loading trucks, dumpsters, containers, capacitor shipments, and other materials for shredding. Duties are performed in accordance with a detailed knowledge of the Standard Division Practices, Health/Safety regulations, permit rules, and other company requirements.
High School Diploma and/or G.E.D. equivalent. No unsatisfactory work performance issues.
Currently holding or previously held a position which by definition of task and/or area required person to be trained to level of hazardous waste operator. Minimum one year process operations. Minimum six months heavy equipment operations
Must be able to perform the job requirements and pass a verbal and/or written skill/proficiency test for the position within a reasonable orientation/training period set by Supervisor, not to exceed 90 days.
Must be able to pass a respirator fit test.
Loader Operator - Ready Mix
Ensures incoming materials are properly stored or stockpiled. Maintains inventory of stored materials. Maintains materials in a safe and orderly manner.
Operates straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor-type vehicle equipped with front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas.
Performs the day-to-day activities of a plant (Ready Mix), duties could include tasks associated with maintaining the stationary equipment of various plants.
Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate loader. Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front-end loader forward to force bucket into bulk material. Moves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drives vehicle to work site, and moves levers to dump material.
Perform assignments outlined by supervisors and standard procedures are followed in the performance of duties. Work is inspected periodically for safety and economy in operation. Performs routine maintenance on loader, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
Maintain equipment in proper working order.
Maintain and review maintenance logs for repairs.
Maintain an effective system of communications with supervisors, drivers and crew, laborers and operators, and customers serviced.
Safely operate loader and perform mechanic and general labor duties.
Perform all duties in a safe manner and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Ability to follow instructions, maintain good housekeeping around the plant site.
Perform daily pre-trip safety inspections, report defects or problems.
Load bins to ensure appropriate stock levels and load haul trucks while maintaining safe area for stock piling and customer load out.
Maintain berms in appropriate areas.
Use safe practices in all activities
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Required: 12 months of loader operator experience with CAT 950.
Required: Prior work experience preferred working in or around heavy equipment, construction or asphalt.
Required: Basic mechanical maintenance knowledge and skills.
Required: Proven safety record.
Required: Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Additional Requirements Preferred:
Ready Mix Plant Operator (Seasonal)
1.High School or GED plus higher trade or technical school or equivalent in related field
2.Plant maintenance & operation
3.A CDL Class B license with two years truck driving experience. Preference given for experience driving a ready mix truck.
4.Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card and acceptable driving record.

10.Lead personnel at plant and work with dispatch to schedule drivers. Monitor plant site to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow.
11.Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
12.Proven experience handling multiple projects and priorities while maintaining tight deadlines; highly organized with attention to detail.
13.Accurately complete plant reports and other documentation as needed.
14.Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance. Maintain safe working environment and foster safety culture, ensure good housekeeping skills and lockout/Tagout procedures. When needed, accompany employee to medical facility when injured and manage work comp claim by working closely with medical provider on treatment plan.
