ABOUT R.W. SIDLEY
Founded in 1938, R.W. Sidley provides a range of products and services to countless businesses in the construction industry throughout the Midwest, in addition to homeowners in our local areas served.
We have grown to employ over 275 employees and have locations across Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. Our family-like company culture plays a large part in our success. We're always looking for people with a positive attitude and a hard working mentality.
You don't find a work culture like ours every day. We have a great family vibe that welcomes positive, hardworking, and friendly people who enjoy being part of our proud team.
We have an informal work environment but are serious about what we do. Our employees are too busy helping customers, being productive, and building relationships to get bogged down in office politics.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MIXER DRIVER
As a Mixer Driver in our impressive fleet of mixer trucks, you are the lifeline for finishers, road contractors, and builders who are in need of concrete for their project. You and your fellow mixer fleet team members are the face of our company for most of our customers in the ready mix concrete business.
You are quite literally the main reason they choose to buy concrete from R.W. Sidley! Whether they need concrete as quickly as we can get it to them, they only need 1 load at a specific time, or they need the concrete unloaded in a special way, they can count on you!
You work closely with the Plant Manager (who acts as a dispatcher) to determine when to load your truck with concrete, then you deliver the concrete to the job and work with the customer to unload, then you return to the plant and pick up another load to deliver. Sometimes it's as simple as delivering a couple loads to the same job in a single day, taking the same route you've driven many times before.
But other times you need to use your communication skills to listen to where the Plant Manager needs you to go and do what they need you to do. When you're not delivering concrete, there's plenty of opportunity to make sure your truck is clean and help around the plant. You are all about listening to your Plant Manager and helping in any way you can.
