Position Summary and Responsibilities
Teledyne Energy Systems, Inc. is looking for a leader with a focus on product development and process engineering who possesses the skills to assess advances in the battery industry and implement programs which introduce leading edge battery technology to existing products. You will be a principal contributor to the definition and execution of the technology roadmap while identifying opportunities for engaging in materials research and technology development. Essential Job Duties and
Assume a leadership role in developing technical roadmap for growth in battery industry
Develop and execute strategic product development plans to meet customer requirements
Interact with vendors, customers and users of batteries and represent TESI as technical expert
Implement industry trends and technology into existing products
Serve as technical POC with customer in planning new programs
Formulate project plans for new work to support technical roadmap
Attend battery conferences and seminars to develop relationships and learn about advances in the industry – suggest work plans which are applicable to facility mission
Stay current with technological developments in the area of batteries, fuel cells, science and engineering through membership in scientific societies, participation in technical committees and industry organizations to keep pace with the ever-changing competitive environment
Identify new materials or technologies to expand the capabilities of the facility and formulate a program to introduce, test, and qualify these products
Provide advisory support on existing programs
Review and analyze test data
Provide technical support to Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Test departments
Actively participate in the New Business Development, Engineering and Technical project meetings
Education and Experience
Master's Degree in Engineering, Electrochemistry, Physics or Materials Science
15 or more years of hands-on experience in battery industry
Master's degree is required and may be substituted for 2 years' experience
Doctorate degree may be substituted for 5 years' experience
Experience leading Lithium Ion battery development projects
Demonstrated technical leadership and strategic planning
Experience developing and delivering technical presentations
U.S. Citizenship required for government clearance and or data/software access.
Electrochemical cell design
Electrode coating and battery assembly operations
Testing and data analysis
Program management experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Strong electrochemistry background
Ability to work in a team environment
Results oriented with good planning and organization/work management skills
Ability to identify and solve problems
Proven experience with handling multiple projects simultaneously
Proficient with standard Microsoft office software
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
