Hawker Pacific Aerospace, Sun Valley, CA is seeking a motivated Hand Finishing Technician I to support its Landing Gear Deburr Department. Selected applicant will be responsible for blending, deburring, polishing, honing, and lapping aircraft components and assemblies, as required.
A Hand Finishing Technician may be assigned to one or more departments depending upon the company needs at the time.
This individual has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned task. May be assigned some or all duties indicated below depending on job progression level.

Key ResponsibilitiesThe Yard Driver- Battery Tech is responsible for providing value to our customers, colleagues and adhering to Damco standards of safety, accuracy, security, and productivity. The Yard Driver – Battery Tech is expected to be a productive contributor to the team and achieve all measurable goals including, safety, quality, productivity, SOP adherence, attendance, and teamwork. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety: Colleagues are expected to work in a safe manner at all times and report all unsafe acts and conditions. All accidents and damage to product, equipment, and structures must be reported to the supervisor immediately. Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards. In the case of an emergency evacuation of the facility, the Yard Driver colleague must check all areas of the yard for drivers and have them assemble at the Welcome Center.
All proper PPE (personal protective equipment) necessary to perform all the above duties in compliance with company policy. This position is responsible for knowing the published Dropped Battery and Chemical Spill procedures in the case of an incident in the battery changing area. All spills must be reported to the supervisor on duty immediately. This position is responsible for monitoring the availability of all the necessary Chemical Spill equipment and materials and informing his/her supervisor if new equipment or materials are needed. All PPE, materials, and safety equipment must be maintained in a clean and working condition.
Responsible for the safe, accurate loading, unloading, storage, and retrieval of vessels while consistently maintaining productivity standards as well as safe handling of battery equipment and charge stations.
Verifies inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
Perform daily inspection of Yard Truck and RF equipment and audit per shift.
Coordinate the delivery of all vessels to their assigned door to meet the scheduled Appointment Time.
Operate all equipment safely and efficiently as required.
Perform proper procedures for maintaining the radio frequency equipment, yard equipment and battery station area.
Communicate daily with Manager on all spills, malfunctions, damage, etc.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or Materials Science; At least 3 years of relevant experience with battery or storage systems, and electrical testing. Experience as a student may be counted.
Ability and experience leading projects from start to finish
Ability to add additional value to projects by making recommendations to or developing testing programs from scratch from clients with multiple needs
Comfortable with data processing, desk work, and hands-on lab work

Familiarity with a host of standards including ISO 17025, UL 1741, IEEE 1547, IEC 61215, UL 1642, IEC 62133, UN 38.3, UL 1973, NFPA 70, UL9540, NFPA 855, FCC Part 15B, etc.
Basic understanding of battery design, operation and function
Knowledge about the testing of rechargeable batteries of different chemistries especially as they relate to battery standards and testing methods found in ANSI, IEC, SAE, UL, CSA, etc.
A desire to push the envelope of established standards and practice and develop new testing standards, methods, and techniques
Be open to learning, creating and expanding the capabilities of the lab
Physical abilities necessary to perform regular functions of the job:
Normal office and lab environments, occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs., regular walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing and reaching
Occasional air travel to client sites, other offices, and conferences (up to 15% annually, sometimes long distance)

Position Title: Finishing QC Inspector
Reports To: Production Shift Supervisor
The Finishing Inspector is responsible for the inspection and editing of converted press product using a slitter / rewinder, finishing it into the correct format as dictated by customer specifications. The Finishing Inspector is responsible for meeting customer requirements while conforming to company standards for quality and job parameters.
Inspects printed products to assess and evaluate quality conformance to specifications.
Discards or rejects defective product that does not conform to requirements for print quality or product functionality.
Operates finishing equipment at required speed to ensure proper slitting, alignment, and roll profile.
Examines job orders to determine details such as finished quantities, production times, packaging specifications, and shipping requirements.
Notifies supervisors and other personnel of production problems, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.
Loads, positions, and adjusts master press rolls on holding fixtures or in equipment loading and feeding mechanisms.
Moves printed materials using lifts and transports them to storage or finishing areas.
Pushes buttons or moves controls and levers to start and control finishing equipment.
Monitors finishing equipment in order to maintain specified operating levels and to detect malfunctions; make any necessary adjustments.
Maintains, or adjusts equipment using proper preventive maintenance techniques.
Records finishing data specific to product quantities, copy position, packaging, and shipping requirements using the appropriate quality control forms.
Responsible for verifying critical quality conformance to proper line clearance and product segregation processes.
Ensures the work conducted within the production area is performed in a safe and efficient manner. Any unsafe work conditions are addressed immediately.
Ensures adherence to all quality control processes and procedures and actively supports the company's internal audit program.
Maintains daily time and materials usage reports by entering information into the computer print management system.
Individual must be able to monitor processes, materials and equipment.
Individual must be able to work independently with minimal guidance required. This implies good time management, planning/organization, and decision-making skills.
Individual must be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people, maintaining flexibility, objectivity and a capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
