Job Description: Bose is currently seeking a battery engineer to lead a cross-functional team to support new product development efforts incorporating batteries.
You will be responsible for designing battery systems for current and emerging Bose product categories. At Bose, you'll have the opportunity to join a world class engineering team and help revolutionize portable and wearable devices. You will design and execute experiments to characterize cells/packs, develop cell models, and manage collaborations with international cell/pack suppliers.
As a battery expert, you should be up to date with the advancement of battery technology and the cell/pack manufacturer landscape. You should also be able to identify the suitable battery suppliers and technologies for Business units. Responsibility: Lead cross functional team to deliver optimum battery solutions Provide subject matter expertise and collaborate with product teams to create battery cell requirements based on system requirements and feasibility studies.
Design tests to ensure that the battery systems are validated to design specifications. Create and maintain battery technology roadmap. Drive the development of collaborative industry efforts.
Knowledgeable of cell manufacturing. With the commodity team, identify viable suppliers, evaluate supplier capabilities, and assess technical performance. Conduct and coordinate failure analysis with Bose internal group and cell/pack vendor.
Requirements: Extensive battery cell knowledge required. Direct experience in battery cell R&D, extensive knowledge of rechargeable battery chemistries and testing methodology. In-depth understanding of rechargeable battery industry landscape.
At least 10 years of relevant work or research experience. Demonstrated ability to problem solving cell issues. Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Fluent in Mandarin a plus. 15% travel to international manufacturing facilities expected. The NISC III Power Services Group at Leidos needs an Electrical / Power Engineer (with a BS or higher in Electrical Engineering) to support the FAA's Power Services Battery program.

A fully competent Battery Technician- Applies an intensive and diversified knowledge of complete start-up, testing and operations. Responsible for commissioning, maintaining and providing emergency support on power electronics at customers’ sites within their respective regional coverage area.
