Kiewit's Lenexa office is currently seeking Electrical Engineers with experience in Renewable, Battery Energy Storage and Distributed Energy technologies for the Engineering Services (ES) business line. ES engineers in this position are typically responsible for supporting renewable and alternative energy proposals, running design and performance software for solar, microgid and energy storage designs, and performing renewable energy related project electrical engineering roles for power markets served by Kiewit. The Engineering role focuses on using design and performance modeling tools such as Helioscope, PVSyst and HOMER Pro to support proposals, owners engineer roles and EPC project engineering roles for our Kiewit clients. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in one or more of the aforementioned design software tools and real world project design engineering/construction experience with a combination of solar, alternative energy & microgrid related technologies, and energy storage systems. The primary initial focus is on PV solar, microgrid and Battery Energy Storage Systems of commercial industrial scale to utility scale (i.e.50kW to 200-MW).

Establish and maintain on-going internal and external client relationships within the renewable/alternative energy industry.
Follow proposal and project execution plans including deliverables lists, schedule, budget, and manpower projections required to successfully execute the proposal or project.
Utilize design and performance modeling tools such as Helioscope, PVSyst and HOMER Pro to support proposals, owners engineer roles and Engineer, Procure, Construct (EPC) project engineering roles.
Develop electrical designs for solar, energy storage systems (battery, flywheel, electrolysis, and hydrogen storage, ultra-capacitors, etc.), and microgrid related technologies such as natural gas recip engines, small wind turbines, fuel cells, microturbines, distributed control and monitoring systems, etc. The major focus will be on PV solar, microgrids, and battery energy storage systems in the near term.
Support presentation of proposals to customers including customer follow-up. Proposal Development-Assist with the development of proposal documents and engineering estimate.
Assist with post proposal submittal bid strategy, answer questions and participate in closing projects.
Maintain a strong network of industry related individuals for the purpose of expanding Kiewit's services and opportunities.
Ensure Quality Control of services and deliverables is followed, in accordance with the Kiewit Company Quality Plan.
Follow proper Scope Management so that the scope of services required by Contract is provided and that out-of-scope work is properly compensated.
Communicate proposal and project status to Proposal, Procurement, and Engineering Services Leadership as required.

This is a limited appointment position for one year.
The Hospital for Large Animals is the flagship teaching hospital of the Cummings Veterinary Medical Center at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine of Tufts University, with approximately 2,000 patients per year. The hospital provides advanced veterinary care for large animal patients throughout New England and serves as the primary clinical training environment for the veterinary students, interns and residents. The mission of the Cummings School is to improve and promote the health and well-being of animals, people and ecosystems we share.
This position will work with a team of 3 large animal internal medicine faculty, 4 large animal surgery faculty and 2 large animal ultrasound specialists. Clinical service will include emergency back-up for interns and medical and surgical residents on nights and weekends, as part of a faculty rotation, and approximately 7 weeks of daytime clinic duty in Large Animal Medicine per year, if the clinician has an Internal Medicine background.
Medical and surgical cases must be managed afterhours, including all aspects of surgical colic cases, if the clinician has a surgical background. If the clinician has an Internal Medicine background, management of surgical cases excludes the surgical procedure itself. Must have a strong record of communicating effectively with clients, referring veterinarians, and team members. Student teaching and intern and resident training are important components of this position.

Johns Manville is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintainer B Electrician, to be located in our McPherson, Kansas, plant.
The McPherson, KS, plant manufactures fiber glass insulation products for residential, commercial, industrial, and retail markets. These products are manufactured in various widths and thickness with varying insulation values. The finished products are produced in the form of blowing wool or in rolls, batts, or blankets of varying length and then packaged for storage in the warehouse. Thereafter, shipments to customers are made primarily to locations throughout the central United States.
The incumbent inspects, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, systems, buildings, facilities and physical structures. Must be a specialist in job classification and be able to assist, under supervision, in other job skills when it is a requisite for job completion. Working with complex blueprints, diagrams, and sketches, and from general verbal and written instructions, according to established operating procedures, performs the following duties while cooperating with all levels within the organization in support of the four Johns Manville core values: People, Passion, Performance, and Protection.

Assists with general construction, systems work, masonry, carpentry, and painting work using appropriate materials and hand, power, portable, and stationary tools and equipment. May operate mobile equipment. Assists with water treatment and fire protection equipment tests following prescribed methods. Adds materials and makes corrections and repairs based on test results.
Performs all types of available maintenance and repair work that is essential to efficient operation of the plant.
Assists with preventive and predictive maintenance work, as well as troubleshooting and reactive repairs.
During cleanouts and emergencies, performs any duties necessary to get equipment back into operation in minimum time.
Makes welds, brazes, cuts, solders, and silver-solders all grades and types of metal from difficult positions and hard-to-reach locations in an efficient and workmanship-like manner.
Fills out work orders, requisitions, inspection reports, time distribution material usage, etc., and performs other clerical duties necessary to maintain proper records relative to the work performed.
Must possess and maintain the necessary tools for above classification where required and be proficient in their use and care.
Follows the Lean Production methods.
Performs other related duties as directed including duties of lower classifications.
Assists with inspections on machinery and equipment while in operation, diagnosing faulty operation.
Determines the extent to which machine parts may become worn without affecting the operating efficiency of the machine, as well as when a defective part should be repaired or replaced. Removes those machines which require major repairs or that cannot be repaired while in operation or position.
Makes necessary repairs to machinery and reinstalls. May remove or install equipment and machinery or make revisions or additions thereto.
As directed, makes revisions and additions to existing systems, performing any necessary pipe fitting or plumbing work. May make repairs to systems under emergency conditions in order to maintain plant operations.
Periodically inspects and makes necessary adjustments or repairs to plant fire protection system, including alarms and auxiliary devices.
Uses hand and power tools of all kinds, as well as a variety of measuring and testing instruments.
Adheres to all NFPA 70E requirements including CPR certification (specific only to Electricians).
