The Traction Power Maintainer position maintains overhead catenary systems and their individual components to the highest applicable standards; maintains traction power systems including substations and provide a safe and reliable service to the riding public; and maintains power distribution equipment for Maintenance of Way (MOW) building, tunnel and passenger stations.
Hourly Pay Range:
1st year of employment = $35.72
2nd year of employment = $37.82
3rd year of employment = $39.92
4th year of employment = $42.02
Work Schedule: All hires are subject to seniority roster for shift pick. New hires may work on any shift depending upon the pick.

What you would do in this job:
Installs, inspects, maintains, repairs and provides diagnostic analysis for all components of the electric traction power systems, emergency tunnel ventilation, and track switch heaters, including but not limited to substations, negative power cable(s) return to substations, catenary systems and related equipment
Responds to service calls to diagnose and correct emergencies involving the electric traction systems. Installs, inspects, maintains and provides diagnostic analysis for electrical support systems at all LRT facilities, energizes and de-energizes traction power systems, and applies grounding systems for a safe work area.
Operates on track equipment as required to accommodate maintenance activities.
Works on both overhead and underground equipment operating both on the road and on rail vehicles and equipment associated with the maintenance and repair of the electrical traction power system.
Communicates via two-way radio and/or telephone to Rail Control Center to coordinate maintenance requirements.
Completes various paperwork to include incident reports, maintenance and inspection records, and daily logs.
Operates heavy-duty trucks and tow trailers to move heavy equipment such as spools of wire, and uses truck-mounted cranes to lift heavy equipment, materials and completes repairs to the systems.
Performs chemical type welding functions to include cable to rail bonding.
Trains and directs work of apprentice.
Performs other duties as assigned
What education and experience are required for this job (minimum qualifications)
Associates/Vocational Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Repair and Installations, and at least two (2) years of experience as a fully qualified Journeyman or Master Electrician or Journeyman Lineman with proof of licensure, performing maintenance of high voltage systems OR
High school diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of experience as a fully qualified journeyman or master electrician, or a journeyman lineman with proof of licensure, performing maintenance of high voltage systems.
Minnesota Class A Journeyman Electrical license, Class A Master's license, or Class A Journeyman Lineman's license OR equivalent license with reciprocity from another state.
Minnesota electrical license must be valid and active at the time of hire.
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Currently hold or have the ability to obtain Minnesota Class "A" commercial driver's license (CDL) within twenty-one (21) days of hire (and ability to meet ongoing DOT physical requirements).
Bring CDL learner's permit on the first day of hire. Training and testing, provided. Class A CDL license will be issued upon passing of road test.
Ability to pass physical examinations, Rail Operations Rule Book and physical agility examinations

The Thermal/Fluid Component Sciences Department is seeking a postdoctoral appointee to partner with a dynamic team developing multi-physics models of custom lithium batteries. This research focuses on high theoretical energy density systems to enable limited cycle rechargeability, electrochemical performance in extreme environments, and unique form factors. Models are developed to design 3D battery electrode architectures that use novel separators in custom form factors. Length scales span the mesoscale to the macroscale. Analysis includes understanding the temperature-dependences of the electrochemical processes and the resulting mechanical stresses. Research is performed on Sandia's extensive high-performance computing assets using leading edge multi-physics simulation codes.

SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a Structures/Facilities Maintainer. The structures tasks performed shall include but not be limited to carpentry and masonry modernization and alterations, sheet metal, welding, locksmithing, and minor movement and reconfiguration of furniture
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Constructs, remodels, retrofits and repairs interior and exterior structures made of wood, drywall, plaster, concrete or brick
Work from blueprints, specifications, drawings and instructions to design, build, remodel, retrofit, maintain and repair various types of facilities and structures
Inspect completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations; inspect related work by contractors; estimate cost, time and materials for carpentry projects
Plan, install, repair, alter, and/or replace furnishings, fixtures, equipment, and finishes to include doors, flooring, ceilings, and cabinets as necessary. This also includes inspection, maintenance, repair or improvement of roofing components, windows, exterior drainage, plus exterior walkways and covers.
Maintain key accountability on the BEST Key Code system plus all locks, safe and vault doors, dial and cipher locks, to include installation, combination changes, disabling or penetrating inoperative locks (such as a Mass Hamilton X-09/X-10) IAW DoD Lock.
Current Secret clearance, but preferably TS/SCI
Experience working with the US Military is preferred
Must be familiar with locking mechanisms and fabricate keys to replace lost or damaged keys
Knowledge of welding and sheet metal fabrication for minor maintenance and repair of flashing, ducting, fencing, turnstiles, signage, and other structural components and be able to troubleshoot and repair mechanical gates
Must be a GSA certified locksmith
Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking. Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades

AECOM is seeking a 2nd shift Battery Changer I in Aberdeen, MD! Typical work hours are Monday
- Friday, 2:00pm-10:30pm; hours may vary based on business demand.
This position uses specially designed equipment to safely remove discharged batteries from Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and replace fully charged batteries in same.
Follow established procedures and protocols to recharge batteries so that an active fleet of equipment is available to the associates assigned to use this equipment. Perform a variety of tasks designed to maintain the battery charging equipment or to secure the safety of the charging area.
Maintain and/or replace batteries for Material Handling Equipment.
As assigned, provide assistance or training to others and or coordinate activities.
Maintain Hazardous Material awareness to ensure knowledge regarding handling and moving hazardous materials. Complete daily inspection sheet.
Inspect batteries for water level, vent caps, connectors, terminal covers and disconnect blocks (36Vs only) before they are placed into a Material Handling Equipment vehicle.
Keep no less than 40 batteries (20 of each type, 24V & 36V) inspected and/or watered in advance to facilitate the next battery change.
Repair batteries per the established repair guidelines.
Appropriately complete battery change log sheet per established procedures.
Complete daily work logs with detailed information and maintenance reports on a timely basis.
Anticipate and solve problems.
Adhere to business code of conduct and other Company policies and protocols.
Maintain professional and courteous customer relations including client, vendor, and internal team at all times.
Maintain safety work practices as defined by the Company.
