Aerospace Parts Assembler
Position: Assembly Mechanic
Advanced Integration Technology (AIT) is currently seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Assembler to add to our growing company. We are a leading Aerospace manufacturing facility located within a mile of the San Antonio Airport. Our machining capabilities range from 2-axis turning to complex 4-axis milling, using the latest tool technology, cutting techniques, and machining processes. State-of-the-art machining, CNC controls, programming tools, and highly trained operators ensure that the machined products that we deliver meet the required specifications and exceed customer expectations.
Function & Scope: Assemble or fit together parts to form complete units or subassemblies at a bench, conveyor line, or on the floor. Work may involve the use of hand tools, power tools, and special equipment in order to carry out fitting and assembly operations. Include assemblers whose duties are of a non-precision nature.
Typical Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following;
- Bolts, clips, nails, rivets, screws, welds, or otherwise fastens component parts of assembly together, using hand tools, power tools, or bench machines.
- Positions, fits, or align parts on workbench, floor, or machine, following blueprints, diagrams, guides, holes, reference marks, or work orders.
- Drills, taps, or reams holes to prepare parts for assembly, using arbour or drill press or other bench mounted drills.
- Files, grinds, planes, sands or buffs parts to remove burrs, alter shape, improve fit, or smooth finish, using hand tools or power tools.
- Applies adhesive, bonding agent, sealant, or paint to surface of material by brushing, spraying, dipping, or rolling.
- Bends, crimps, or presses materials to specified shape or curvature, using hand tools, bending machine, or pressing machine.
- Holds parts during assembly, using hands, clamps, pneumatic screw presses, or other work aides.
- Measures and marks reference lines and points on parts according to specifications, using template, rule, or marking device.
- Cuts materials, such as fabric, metal, paper, or wood into specified dimensions or shapes, using cutting machine, scissors, or knife.
- Read process charts, work orders, blueprints, or other specifications to determine assembly sequence, machine and tooling requirements, measurements, and tolerances.
- Inspects, tests, and verifies accuracy of assembled article for conformance to standards, using measuring or testing equipment, or by visual examination.
- Adjusts, repairs, or replaces defective product parts, using hand tools.
- Cleans dust, dirt, and other foreign matter from material or machine surfaces, using cleaning solution, rag, air hose.
- Lifts, loads, sorts, and moves materials, supplies, and finished products between storage and work areas, using push-cart, hoist, or dolly.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Two years of experience in aerospace tooling.
Proficiency required in shop tools and gauges. Ability to properly diagnose tool malfunction and conduct or recommend the most appropriate remedy.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Description of major duties and responsibilities of the role.
Works in one of four (4) job assignments in the classification performing a variety of functions related to the manufacture and assembly of medical kit components.
Molding, Tipping, Assembly, and Coating
When performing work in each of the job assignments:
Obtains appropriate process documents for operation to be performed from set-up person or supervisor.
Locates required components and verifies identity and quantity.
Performs operations as described, utilizing the specified gauges and measurements to verify quality.
Completes various production documents such as Production Control Sheets, Machine Log, and SAP DHR.
Packs completed components in appropriate containers as required to maintain product quality or meet customer requests.
Identifies completed components and delivers to QA or next operation.
When working in the Molding assignment:
Loads component blank or cannula into molding machine.
Activates machine cycle.
Removes Completed parts
Inspects or gauges parts
When working in the Tipping assignment:
Cleans component blanks
Trims blanks to proper length when required.
Loads component blanks and activates machine cycle.
Unloads, trims, and inspects or gauges completed parts.
Loads and unloads even with corrugated parts.
Replaces core pins when necessary.
When working in the Assembly
Performs hand or machine-assisted assembly operations
Load components into jigs or fixtures.
Apply glue or adhesives when required.
Cycle machines when utilized.
Inspect or gauge completed parts.
When working in extrusion, performs tray work and other component packing requiring plastic bags, pans, etc. Gauges and inspects parts as necessary.
Provides relief for molding operation.
Works in any job assignment as required by production and scheduling demands.
Picks out or repairs vendor parts or internally produced component parts rejected by Quality assurance.
Maintains charts and records including Statistical Process Control, Defect Type, and Machine/Station Stoppages.
Assists with training new employees

Summary: Assembles prepared machined parts (stiles, rails, panels, and bars) into doors, according to prescribed patterns, by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Spaces glue discharge pipes to correspond with dowel holes in stiles.
Places stile on edge of glue tank and depresses pedal to fill dowel holes with glue. Drops glued stile horizontally with dowel holes up into jig on floor. Grasps rails and panels, in sequence, from stacks behind glue tank and aligns protruding dowels from each piece into glued holes of stile on floor.
Taps pieces with maul to start dowels into holes. Glues and places second stile over protruding dowel pins of rails and panels and drives assembly partially together with maul. Tips door on bottom edge and stacks door vertically against rack for removal to.
Education/Experience: High school diploma, 1 to 2 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Battery Technician position is a full-time hourly position reporting to the Facility Maintenance Manager. They are responsible for the maintaining all equipment batteries, Forklifts, reach trucks set down pallet jack-tuggers and golf carts. Responsible for changing batteries in all equipment.
Coordinates with facility maintenance manager on ordering of parts for battery repairs.

Assists other members of the maintenance team when needed on other building and sorter repairs as directed by the facility maintenance manager.
