Graphic Packaging-Visalia manufactures and distributes paper cups and plastic lids for the food service industry and is currently recruiting for the following position.
JOB TITLE: 3rd Shift Warehouse Stacker
WORK SCHEDULE: 12:00 a.m. (Midnight) to 8:00 a.m.
The Warehouse Stacker is responsible for selecting and unloading cases of paper cups and plastic lids weighing up to 60 lbs. off a conveyor system, stacking and preparing stacked product for transportation by a forklift driver. The Warehouse Stacker will obtain boxes of finished product from production sortation line and stack in orderly manner.
The Warehouse Stacker will wrap units before the stacker driver moves the product to stretch wrapper. As part of job responsibilities, Warehouse Stackers may be required to perform or assist on any and all jobs for which they are qualified so as to provide uninterrupted, safe and continuous operations. Warehouse Stacker may also be required to perform other necessary tasks throughout the plant including cleaning, general housekeeping duties, painting, sorting, cup-by-cup, lid-by-lid or tasks of a clerical nature All employees must follow all Graphic Packaging International work rules, code of conduct and safety procedures and policies including wearing personal protective equipment such as steel toed shoes, hearing protection and safety goggles.
WORK DEVICES/TOOLS consist of the following: computer, hand wrap, marker, tape dispenser, telephone, brooms/mops.
1-2 years manufacturing experience preferred
Must be able to stand for long periods of time with scheduled breaks
Must be able lift items weighing up to a maximum of 50-60 pounds on an occasional basis.
Average weight lifted is approximately 35 lbs. The employee may be required to lift these weights overhead
Must be able to reach between waist and shoulder height which occurs occasionally throughout the shift basis.

Operate assigned stacker equipment.
Conduct change overs on stacker equipment.
Cut new conveyor belts and install them accordingly.
Make adjustments to the line as needed to ensure within quality standards.
Bands skids by following the banding standard operating procedure.
Flip skids when needed.
Keep all supplies full, including cardboard corners, banding supplies, etc..
Comply with area housekeeping initiatives.
Communicate with coater operator and QC.
Preform required quality checks and inspect sheets for quality issues.
Preform preventive maintenance activities on stacker end equipment, including greasing line.
Cover for breaks.
Preform resort activities including and not limited to running the resort line and sorting HFI's.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:
A high school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years working experience in a manufacturing setting (high-speed manufacturing is preferred).
Effective record keeping skills and the ability to focus on details.
Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time.
Effective and proven communication skills (both written and verbal) working in a team environment.
Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule.
Must be able to work daily overtime including on Saturdays and Sundays when needed.

The primary purpose of this position is to remove cases of frozen products from moving conveyors, stack properly onto pallet or flow rack, and place palletized product in proper locations for load-out.

Brings pallets from staging area to production line using a manual pallet jack.
Lifts cases from moving conveyor and stacks on pallet.
Moves stacks of ice cream to staging area using electric pallet jack.

What You'll be Responsible For in this Role
- In this role operate designated machines and equipment to convert corrugated board into corrugated cartons or inner packaging within specifications of the customer orders.
Safety and Health of self and team working in the assigned area.
Participation in all Safety Activities.
Safety Inspection of the Machine and equipment; machine lock out tag out.
Support and maintain ISO 9001 activities and ensure that required processes are maintained.
Utilize the company's business systems to attain the machine schedule and job specifications to determine material requirements, machine set up and adjustments.
Adjusts machine components in order to meet order specifications, etc...
Performs Quality inspections as required; remove finished packaged items from process and separate rejected items.
Regulates machine flow and speed; on-going monitoring of the production line, watching for problems, pile ups, jams, glue that is not sticking, etc...
Coordinates with assigned team and forklift operators to obtain all material requirements per the specifications, i.e.... cutting dies, print plates, ink and corrugated sheets, etc...
Monitors control panel on machine; observes machine operation to detect defects or machine malfunction.
Report quality, productivity, downtime and waste daily in the company's business system.
Completes Quality Checklist provided by the company timely and accurately at each process point for each production order
Trains, communicates and assists team assigned on the processes such as stacking, feeding, etc...
Performs cleanup of the machine and minor machine maintenance.
Keep area organized, clean and free from any hazardous conditions.
Implementation of ISO 9001 activities and ensure that required processes are maintained.
Performs other duties and/or responsibilities as requested.
