A Racquet Stringer employed with Penn State Mens Tennis is primarily responsible for stringing/re-stringing tennis racquets to the team. Familiarity with the game of tennis and prior experience stringing racquets is preferred but not required. Applicants must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends as necessary.
Tennis Aide I
Performs routine, light maintenance and janitorial duties, especially during tournaments and special events; works directly with the public to educate patrons about the benefits/differences in the different types of string and grips; strings racquets as requested.
Does related work as required.
Specific duties may vary depending upon assignment. Work schedules will vary depending upon events and classes. Typical schedules will be two hour shifts, twice per week. More time will be scheduled during events, but the maximum work week is 20 hours.
Work is performed under regular supervision following regularly established routines subject to more general instructions. Work requires regular public contact.
Assists full-time tennis center staff and/or tennis professionals
Performs light maintenance and janitorial duties

SUMMARY: The Development Engineer is responsible for generating, developing and implementing propulsion, mechanical, electrical, laminate, and structural system designs on marine products built for commercial, law enforcement, and military use. Also responsible for developing new tooling designs as necessary for new product moving forward. This will include use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to ensure designs are robust and manufacturing friendly. These designs must meet all necessary internal quality and supplier requirements, be in compliance with all applicable regulatory bodies, and be executed in the most cost-effective, efficient manner. Also responsible for creating technical documentation packages and engineering drawings as necessary. Candidate must have the ability to manage a project from its inception at quotation to its completion at delivery and all phases inclusive.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accountable for all phases of product development including quotation of new projects, new component design and documentation, propulsion & mechanical systems development, laminate design, electrical system design, and bill of material (BOM) development.
Develop designs for new FRP tooling and/or aluminum structures for new product as required to quickly and accurately respond to market changes and new customer requirements. Develop new product ideas in the form of 2D drawings and/or 3D models.
Develop structural designs for stringer systems, aluminum superstructures, engine installations, vessel lift systems and tow post designs.
Engineering and implementation of alternative propulsion system technologies into new and existing hull platforms including but not limited to diesel engines, water jet, and sterndrive propulsion systems.
Ensure reliable engineering and integration of boat systems including but not limited to propulsion support systems, electrical, fuel, and fire fighting pump systems.
Work with Sales to quickly and accurately respond to customer requests for quotation (RFQ).
Provide manufacturing support for new designs and facilitate the resolution of production issues as new product moves through the facility to completion.
Ensure that all designs meet supplier and internal quality standards and specifications.
Collaborate with component suppliers during design, installation, and problem resolution.
Provide accurate material and component specifications for the sourcing of new and replacement components.
Work with suppliers on the development of new systems and components to ensure continuous improvement in the quality and value of vessel systems.
Produce technical documentation packages as required for certain Federal contracts.
Ensure compliance as necessary with all regulatory bodies including but not limited to ABS, DNV, ABYC and ISO standards.
Ensure adequate and accurate documentation to support manufacturing including but not limited to construction drawings and process work instructions.
Develop and compose technical documentation to assist end users with the familiarization of a fully customized vessel.
Initiate Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) as necessary to execute and properly document product changes.
Travel may be required to meet with prospective customers, benchmark competition and/or support product in the field. Travel time for this position will be less than 10%.
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline required.
Consideration will be given for candidates with significant related work experience in lieu of educational requirements.
Working knowledge of Small-Craft ISO standards specifically 12217 a plus
Knowledge of ABS, DNV, ABYC a plus
NMMA compliance certification a plus
Minimum of 3 years experience in the design & engineering of powerboats required
Recreational, commercial, and/or law enforcement boating experience preferred
3D CAD experience: NX, Catia, Pro E, AutoCAD/Mechanical Desktop or Rhino preferred

Composite Assembly Mechanic
Assembly Mechanic encompasses all of the duties of the following job classifications: Inspector Assembly, Sub-Assembly Precision, Mechanic Aircraft Production, Mechanic Electrical and Radio, Sheet Metal Assembler and Riveter.
Individual job duties may include: Assemble precision assemblies, set up and operate ream fixtures to drill, ream, countersink, spot face, hone and bore for mating major assemblies.
Setup and operate shot peen equipment and accessories for stress relieving assemblies as required. Install press fit bushings and force fit bushings. File, fit, hone, ream, drill, tap, saw, burr and adjust.
Assemble a variety of production aircraft and spacecraft parts and install aircraft equipment, support equipment or power plant equipment. Install, operationally check out, adjust, rig and pressure check systems. Perform bench and assembly line operational check out, troubleshooting, repair and adjustment of electrical and electronic systems, lighting circuits, power plant systems, wing fold circuits, missile launch racks, aircraft instrumentation, provide flight test instrumentation, fire wiring system, fuel system.
Assemble, install, check out physical characteristics and modify wire bundles to aircraft of aircraft mock ups. Bench assemble electrical or electronic components and conductors into electrical units and systems before methods and procedures have been established. Cut, identify, strip, tin, solder, attach components, and pot to prepare wire for assembly.
Tie, seal, and pack assembled bundles and units. Install wire bundles or other electrical and electronic components in aircraft, power plants or ground support equipment.
Assemble aircraft and/or spacecraft structures or aircraft and/or spacecraft support equipment structures with or without the aid of jigs and fixtures by drilling, reaming, countersinking, stop countersinking, dimpling as assigned, burring, fastening, filing, filling, fitting, aligning, trimming, shimming and remove surface defects as assigned. Perform skilled assembly operations such as: shimming, fitting, trimming and aligning which may vary considerably from one assembly to another as with fairings and the mating of major assemblies; realigning or replacing ribs, bulkheads or stringers in skinned assemblies; establishing from blue-prints with or without firm callouts, butt, center, chord, station and water lines; blind pick up of hole locations for blank parts from existing structure; correcting cans, buckles, wrinkles in outer skins and remove surface defects as assigned.
