Warper Operator – Production Operations
Responsible for taking cones of cheese and warp them onto a beam that is of good quality, paying constant attention to building beams and formation of selvages. Required to remove empty cones from the creel.
Must observe all safety precautions and regulations at all times in all areas where duties are performed. Will be responsible for reporting all safety hazards and potential unsafe working conditions. Must attend all monthly scheduled Safety Meetings.
Operate Warpers and keeps record of all end breaks by warper. Keys in stop data into the watchdog system.
Assist removing full beams and help put empty beams on the warper.
Blow-off and sweep around warper after each creel has run out. Straighten tangled cones, place on pallet and send to weaving.
Sweep floor around warper and creels as needed and after any blow down.
Remove empty cones from creels.
Assist in replacing creel with full cones.
Notify Technician of any defective drop wires or mechanical breakdowns.
Pay constant attention to building of beams to include formation of selvage, evenness, and/or other problems.
Use KenComm board to highlight problems in processing.
Run Warpers at 820 yards per minute on OE spun yarn.
Sand beam heads on each beam at start up to prevent bad selvages.
Inspect yarn packages for required worth and using lexan gauge provided.
Follow all safety rules, plant rules, department rules and implement total quality in his/her area of responsibility.
Participate in Plant Corrective Action Team Program.
Participate in Plant Safety Program.
Report all unsafe conditions in a timely manner.
Produce beams required by Kanban cards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Follows daily schedule in order to make correct beams.
Responsible for loading creel continually during shift to prevent run outs.
Ensure that the correct yarn is available, creeled, and tied on.
Ensure if marker yarns are used, they are on the correct spindle and in the proper position on the comb.
Check tension devices at the change of each yarn count for proper tension balls and tension devices locked in place.
Ensure the correct ends are in the creel and comb will be laid in.
Set yardage on the yardage counter according to the warper order and will warp the scheduled amount of beams/reruns.
Remove old ticket and load empty beam and sand.
Ensure camera is on and working properly.
Adjust selvages for even beams.
Set oscillator for a smooth beam.
Continually monitor front of warper while creeling.
Issue beam identification from computer on completion of beam.
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
Use proper safety equipment and follow safety procedures (i.e., lockout/tagout).
Understand and follow quality policy and work instructions.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in other areas within the Warping operation.
Clean up around work area when job is complete.

Machine Operator/ Electron Beam Welder
Perform required duties to set up, operate and maintain one or two sequential lines of equipment to deburr and ultrasonically clean a variety of sized of low carbon backing material and high speed steel wire to electron beam weld the two materials to form bi-metal coil stock.
Mount pancake or oscillating coils of backing material on appropriate play out stand using overhead electric hoist. Spark test to confirm type of material and feed ebd through deburring rolls, washer, welder, defect detector and on to take up reel. Mount high speed wire at washer and feed through welder.
Set up welder, install inner and outer locks, and replace seals at vacuum chamber. Adjust welding beam, regulate speed, and adjust voltage and amperage as required. Inspect welded material with microscope to assure proper location, shape and quality of bead.
Remove and dispose of burring shavings. Remove burring rolls, clean mounts and bearings, add lubrication, reverse or replace rollers in matching pairs. Lap rollers in automatic lapping machine, wash and inspect sharpened cutters under microscope.
Maintain ultrasonic cleaner adding caustic solution; maintain level of warm and cold water rinse. Dump and clean tanks, change seals, felt pads, fluid, air filters, etc. as required.
Monitor operation throughout. Observe welding through optical lens make necessary corrections and adjustments. Note signal light as take up coil approaches capacity, run to visual mark, cut band and start end on new reel. Wire completed coil in two places and transfer coil to annealing or temporary holding rack using tilting table and overhead hoist.
Observe and obey all safety rules, regulations and practices and employ all safety equipment and devices.
Perform other similar or related duties as assigned or directed.
