Baggage Porter And Bellhop
Duties involve transferring luggage, trunks, and packages to and from rooms, loading areas, from horse and buggies by hand or using baggage carts; greeting incoming guests and escorting them to their rooms; receiving and marking baggage by completing and attaching claim checks, assisting physically challenged travelers and other guests with special needs; arranging transportation for guests; explaining the operation of room features such as locks, ventilation systems, and televisions.
No experience necessary, no minimum education required. On-the-job training will be provided in all areas of baggage porter and bellhop work including: transferring luggage, trunks, and packages to and from rooms, loading areas, from horse and buggies by hand or using baggage carts; greeting incoming guests and escorting them to their rooms; receiving and marking baggage by completing and attaching claim checks; etc. Employer will offer 40 hours of work per week. Work shifts vary, (7 a.m. to 3 p.m., 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., and split shifts), 5 to 6 days per week, Monday through Sunday, weekend and holiday work required. Work will be performed on Mackinac Island in Mackinac County, Michigan. Workers will be paid no less than $10.40 per hour. Overtime available at time-and-a-half at the rate of $15.60 per hour (5 to 20 hr./wk. possible especially during peak demand period of June, July and August). Employer will use a single work week in computing wages due. Workers will be paid bi-weekly on Thursday by direct deposit. Employer will make all deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law. Housing and meals are available at $119/week and, if elected, the cost for housing and meals will be deducted from pay on a weekly basis.
Employer will arrange and pay directly for worker’s transportation and subsistence (meals and if necessary, lodging) from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the period of employment covered by the job order or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $12.09 per day during travel to a maximum of $51.00 per day with receipts. Worker is responsible for daily transportation to and from the work site. The employer will reimburse the worker all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees in the first workweek. Any tools, supplies or equipment required to perform the duties of the job will be provided by the employer at no cost to the worker.

Newly Renovated Hotel in Bethesda, right off the red line, looking for an experienced Guest Services Supervisor to oversee the Bell and Valet operation.
The Guest Services Supervisor is responsible for providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests that will be arriving and departing, while ensuring valet revenue. The valet service is the first impression that a customer will receive when arriving and departing the property so it's essential the valet be efficient and well-organized.
Be familiar with all arriving/departing groups for scheduling purposes. Establish good communication and teamwork with fellow team members and other departments within the hotel.
Establishing a strong leadership presence on the front-drive during peak arrival and departure times. Evaluating arrival and departure patterns for Morton's Steakhouse, Weddings, Groups, Hotel Arrivals/Departures, etc. Analyzing the "Daily Detail Report" on a weekly basis to ensure coverage on the front-drive and Lobby. The expectation is to be available during heavy arrivals and departures. The shift schedule would likely involve 12PM to 8:30PM or extended hours depending on evening events.
Directing traffic on the front-drive and ensuring any standing vehicles on the front-drive are moved in a timely manner by designated valet attendants. Ensuring vehicles in valet are retrieved from valet within 20-minutues and ensuring 15-minutes for luggage requests per Hyatt Brand Standards. The majority of the time will be directing the team on the front-drive with valet requests and luggage requests. Maintaining a strong leadership presence and taking ownership of the arrival and departure experience on the front-drive.
Ensure accruement for all valet revenue. Responsible for the team's successful completion of all valet tickets with Guest Name, Car Make/Car Color, Indicate Prior Damage Check, etc. Conduct hourly audits with Keys vs. 'Valet Logs' to guarantee correct valet revenue. Provide nightly and accurate "Valet Logs" to Night Auditors for valet payment. Monitoring daily consistency between the "Valet Logs" vs. Opera Reports. Maintaining an efficient and well-organized valet operation will be crucial to a healthy bottom-line in valet revenue.
Account for any valet overflow outside the 30 guaranteed parking spaces. Report any immediate issues with the parking spaces to always ensure a seamless experience. Any valet overflow should be monitored to avoid any issues with unnecessary expenses.
Review service standards and expectations with the valet/bell team. Train & coach all new hires within the department. Revisit daily training topics with entire team to ensure increased service levels. Ensuring the valet/bell team can run smoothly without your presence on the front-drive. Provide any necessary disciplinary action to team members not adhering to service standards or expectations within job requirements. Assist Front Office Managers in ensuring that employees are following and maintaining standards (i.e., greeting guests, key control, and valet log).

Supervises training of all Valet staff including valet, door and coat staff, with an emphasis on detail to ensure service levels consistent with Ameristar's guest service standards.
Coordinates cross training between all Valet departments/positions.
Responsible for thorough investigation of all vehicle damage/risk problems and accurate recording of investigation and final disposition.
Coordinates recovery efforts with Security and Risk Management.
Grants complimentaries for hospitality purposes only.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and fluctuating days off.
Carries out duties associated with the following positions as necessary: Valet Attendant, Valet Cashier, Coat Room Attendant.
Conducts all cash handling in accordance with cash handling policy and monitors variances on a daily basis.
Coordinated VIP arrivals, including facilitation and ownership of the Limo schedule, and ensures all arrangements have been confirmed prior to arrival.
Monitors volume to ensure fast, friendly and efficient service.
Ensures that all Valet, Door, and Coat Check Team Members behavior and appearance are in compliance with established policy.
Performs duties of Valet, Door, Coat Check Team Members as needed.

Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Office, Outlook and Excel required.
Must be able to work within a smoke-filled environment.
Must be able to lift/carry up to 20 pounds, push/pull up to 100 pounds, and possess the mobility and dexterity required to meet the demands incumbent to this position.
Must be able to stand/walk 100% of shift
Driving record must meet driver eligibility requirements of Ameristar's insurance policy.
