Monitor all plant operations; encourage and confirm correct procedures are being followed to maximize value and increase productivity.
Audit product manually and receive audits to verify proper procedures and efficiency
Test new products and packaging of product for cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and value
Communicate in person and by phone with customers to increase satisfaction and knowledge of available products.
Examine previous day's yields for variances and problems; determine reasons for variances, develop solutions/new procedures and implement as needed.
Arrange to have appropriate production records prepared and maintained.
Attend and schedule appropriate meetings
Perform various other duties as needed
Review slicing yield tests on a regular basis to verify pricing data and confirm the company is receiving bellies that meet contractual specifications.
Work closely with sales and operations on research and product development. Includes but not limited to:
Brine development, formulation, and maintenance
Product testing: new ingredients, equipment, packaging, shelf life
Customer specification creation
Product quality monitoring
New product implementation
Work 40+ hours per week in various areas of the facility
Possible exposure to slippery floors, extreme temperature variations, loud noise, chemicals, sharp objects (knives), machinery, and vehicles.
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Food Science / Meat Science related degree.
Extensive knowledge and technical skill in a variety of production jobs.
Previous experience in further processing.

The Senior Machine Builder constructs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems for custom factory automation equipment. This role participates in the coordination and integration of equipment and involves liaising with mechanical design engineers, controls engineers, machining specialists and project managers in accordance with all applicable plans. Purpose & Scope: To oversee entire Bacon floor production. Direct supervisors with respect to production volume, quality, cost and meeting production schedules and delivery dates. Train and develop supervisors to provide management depth and develop team work to attain department objectives. Review daily production schedule to plan work and personnel assignments. Monitor and confirm that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized. Maintain good employee relations and adherence to labor contract provisions. Other duties as assigned.
KPI Management: Responsible to oversee department targets and controls. Monitor shift operations and productivity. Maximize the efficiency of the department and ensure Daily Production plan targets available for the Operations team in time for an effective shift start.
To ensure effective communications at all levels and complete all necessary administrative work. Actively resolve problems that team members raise to you. Provide positive feedback and constructive criticism to help build their confidence and to develop their skills. Responsible for coaching and discipline of team members.
