Performs activities pertaining to the maintenance, repair and splicing of conveyor belts in accordance with customer needs, company policies, state and federal regulations.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Install new conveyor belt, change out of existing conveyor belt, repair or splicing of conveyor belt, pulley lagging / changing of pulleys and maintenance or changing of mechanical systems that transfer conveyor belt.
Follows instructions / leadership of Crew Leader or Project Manager to ensure all aspects of the job are covered to avoid any time consuming delays as well as any hazard and or task training that may be required before the task begins.
Ensures equipment is maintained in proper working order to avoid any injuries and work areas are kept clean and free of hazards which may endanger the health and/or safety of any employees.
Performs work according to instruction from Crew Leader/ Project Manager to ensure quality and satisfaction is achieved. Inspects customers surrounding equipment to assure and help prevent costly repairs and damage to new material.
Knowledge of mining operations; surface and underground.
Training and certifications as required by federal and state mine safety agencies.
Knowledge in the maintenance of conveyor belts including changing out, splicing and vulcanizing.
Ability to read and understand splice diagrams and blue prints associated with
Strong communication skills; thorough and attention to details; able to prioritize and multitask; proactive and deadline oriented.
1 to 3 years of experience in conveyor belt maintenance preferred
Up to 2 years of mining experience preferred.
Physical requirements for this job include the ability to:
- lift 50+ pounds frequently
- bending, stooping stretching and squatting frequently
- pulling and ratcheting conveyor belt with ½ to ¾ ton come-along
- endure extreme conditions,
- work long hours including off shift
- travel to customer locations for several days to weeks,
- work on extreme heights
- work in confined space and underground mines.
The work environment for this job involves sites which include coal mines to aggregate and mineral mines also including lime plants, prep plants for coal mines, storage and loading yards for coal transport along with facilities / factories that use conveyor systems. These sites may require working in extreme temperatures ranging from but is not limited to sub zero degrees to 130 degrees depending on location and season.

ResponsibilitiesThe individual will be a member of a training, certification, and process improvement program focused on Six Sigma tools and techniques, such as DMAIC, to complete process improvement projects. By defining the problem, measuring the current process by collecting data, analyzing the relevant data, optimizing the process, and controlling the process output, Black Belt personnel will help to reduce defects, maximize product and service quality, and apply decision models to address business process challenges for a federal government agency.

Baggage Belt Maintainer (1843-629)
Maintainers are responsible for the operation of the belt. Must insure proper spacing of bags and monitor the build up of bags on the carousels.
Must insure that the bags are aligned as required and/or immediately clear any resulting jams. Maintainers are responsible for the manual movement of baggage in the event of a system outage. Must perform general cleanup of work areas in and around the conveyor equipment at a frequency required to maintain units free of trash, dirt and debris.
Maintainers perform semi-skilled maintenance under the supervision of a Mechanic or Supervisor. Maintainers must be able to perform the following functions in variable weather and environmental conditions:
Bend, stoop, and crawl to work in tight, restricted areas. Push, pull, lift and carry components weighing up to 45 pounds.
Must be able to climb 10 – 25 ft. in height on ladders and perform duties.
Must have good coordination and good balance.
Must be able to stand 60 – 75% during an 8-hour shift.
Must be able to operate the controls for a forklift or man lift (authorized employees only) in congested area.
Drive vehicles weighing up to 3 tons on selected assignments in congested areas requiring good depth perception and ability to distinguish colors.
Must have good eyesight.
Work with color-coded wiring and other components which requires the ability to differentiate colors to include but not limited to red, green, yellow, blue, black, brown, white, and orange.
Work in a high noise-level environment, and tolerates dust and jet fumes. (Dust masks and earplugs are provided).
Write and type legibly to complete forms/paperwork as required.
Must be able to communicate – verbal and written – in English and be understood by others.

Cintas is seeking a Belt Operator. Our production facilities wash, dry, organize and warehouse the products we offer to customers.
Uniforms and certain ancillary products, such as floor mats, shop towels and dust mops are soil separated when they are unloaded off of the trucks where they are then sent to the washroom for cleaning. Responsibilities include operating the conveyer belt that moves soiled products into the washers. The position is physical and requires repeated standing, bending, stretching, twisting and lifting over the course of the entire shift.
Daily accuracy and productivity of work is necessary for inventory control and accountability. Additional responsibilities include housekeeping and adherence to health and safety standards.

Correctly scanning license plates, UPC and SKUs, making sure units are correct for storage or shipment. Drivers will be working mandatory overtime on short notice, and will be standing for up to 10 hours a day. Drivers must pass road test on an Order Picker / Cherry Picker in the first week of employment
