Our Shear Operators produce horse stall matting for the equine industry. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment. This is an entry-level position Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday work.
This is a good job for a person new to the workforce. No prior production experience is necessary for those who display aptitude and interest. You will learn skills and gain experience in a manufacturing environment while earning a competitive wage and benefits.
This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move, with air table assistance, products weighting up to 200 pounds. You must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and accurately measure with a tape measure.
This is a physical job that requires personal protective equipment. You will need to a pair of steel-toed boots. The company supplies all other required PPE.
New hires are trained on the day shift. Once trained they will be moved to a swing or graveyard shift with opportunities, based on seniority, to stay on day shift.
Good attendance is important; we are looking for candidates who demonstrate a history of good attendance and who welcome overtime. We do have production goals and our Shear Crew functions best as a team. Pre -employment background checks and drug testing are a requirement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Comply with safety procedures and regulations
Program shearing machine in accordance to production tags for length and piece count
Open bundles with bolt cutters, sorting stock length rebar, selecting bar counts and placing material on the shear infeed table for shearing
Communicate and coordinate with crew members to sustain a quality finished product that meets or exceeds customer expectations
Lift up to 50lbs and stand for long periods as well as constantly perform a wide range of physical activities which include pulling, reaching, bending over, climbing, balancing, and kneeling
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
1 year previous experience operating a shear or similar hydraulic equipment
1 year experience in either operations and/or manufacturing environment
Able to execute the essential functions and responsibilities of the job with or without reasonable accommodations
Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and business leaders
Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment
Great organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task

Bench Operators debur, clean, grind, smooth and polish airframe structural components and the tooling used to produce airframe structural components manufactured at ADI. They will occasionally debur products machined by outside suppliers as well.

Interpret plans, work orders, blueprints and drawings to determine how to conduct necessary bench (debur, etc.) operations.

Use pnuematic, rotary guns; flat sanders (jitterbugs), saws, stones, sandpaper and other power tools in order conduct bench/deburring operations.
Examine the surfaces of workpieces to detect imperfection.
ecure workpieces upon or to workstations so that they may guide abrasive pneumatic power tools across part surfaces until customer specifications have been met.
Select the appropriate grade of abrasive belts, wheels or disks according to specifications, personal experience and the condition of the workpiece and attach them to the power tool being used.
Bench Operators will polish machined areas of parts and tooling to produce smooth, unmarred part surfaces.
Replace worn abrasives as necessary.
Perform other reasonable duties as they are assigned by supervision.
