Fixed Shear Operator
The Fixed Shear Operator reports to the Facility & Operations Supervisor, or the Terminal Operations Manager. The Fixed Shear Operator is responsible for the set up, operation, or maintenance of the fixed shear while ensuring that all of his/her efforts are compliant with the company Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Duties may include the operation of one or several types of power equipment to assist in the cutting or shearing of metal. The Fixed Shear Operator should possess knowledge of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
This position operates under flexible parameters. The primary goal of this position is to achieve excellence in all facets of the position. Providing the highest quality product safely, effectively and efficiently decreases accidents and errors and increase profits.
Essential Functions
Environmental and Health & Safety (H&S)
Strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
Provides a safe environment for all employees, customers and visitors.
Operational Performance & Best Business Practices
Load materials, start machines, and monitor their operations to ensure timely and accurate task completion.
Examine completed materials for defects and verify conformance to established specifications.
Test and adjust machine speeds and actions using gauges and hand tools.
Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed or assigned.
Equipment & Maintenance
Install, align, and lock specified blades, hoses, belts, and other parts or fixtures and performs general clean up at the shear.
Report all equipment deficiencies or malfunctions requiring maintenance or repair to the proper supervisor.
Internal Control Responsibilities
Supports the Company's Internal Control process which includes understanding, communicating, and complying with defined internal controls as well as suggesting and making modifications to the policies, procedures, and controls to better relate to the business.
Communicates upward problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, or other policy violations or illegal actions.
Job Conditions
This position is regularly exposed to all weather conditions. Physical hazards such as noise, fumes, and dirt are present due to the equipment, machinery, and scrap as would be found throughout the scrap yard. Safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, face shields, and additional personal protective equipment as needed, must be worn to eliminate the risks associated with these hazards. Travel is not required for this position.
Handling multiple issues regarding safety and maintenance increases pressure. Work load may be unpredictable and pressure can be substantial during peak times. Critical deadlines require considerable adaptability. Disturbances of work flow and/or irregularities in work schedule are expected and occur on an intermittent basis. Extra hours may be required, sometimes on weekends, weekdays, and holidays.
Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions

Shear Operator
POSITION SUMMARY:
Each person assuming the responsibilities of the position must possess the qualities which will enable him/her to safely and in a timely fashion perform all of duties listed below. These qualities include but are not limited to: Accurate Reading, Writing, and basic math skills. Safe operation of all equipment including but not limited to forklift and overhead crane.

Must have basic tools to accomplish job. (Bevel square, protractor, tape measure, etc.)
Proficiency in shop mathematics with the ability to calculate decimals and fractions figures.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and understand instructions and safety procedures provided in English.
Ability to learn to read and understand manufacturing planning and precision measurement equipment.
Ability to time manage. ie, stack completed parts properly on blocks or pallets to eliminate double handling.
Have a proactive, positive attitude and a strong sense of self-motivation, accountability and responsibility.

Position description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Shear Operator position is responsible for operating the shear and carrying out the daily tasks assigned by the supervisor. This operator has the ability to successfully set up and run the shear. Works closely with supervisor and production planning on the full scope of projects moving through the department. Operator is flexible and adaptable to assignment changes and will jump in and help when needed. Ensures a safe and efficient operation of the shear and conducts quality control checks on the first part and throughout the production run.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Main responsibilities of this job:
Follow standardized work processes and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
Effectively carry out assigned tasks throughout the shift.
Inspect machine prior to starting production.
Advanced proficiency of inspecting and using measuring tools (i.e. Micrometers, dial calipers, height gages, depth gages, bore micrometers, dial indicators etc.) to indicate parts and verify dimensions of finished work piece.
Inspect products to ensure quality and customer specifications throughout the shift.
Notify supervisor if individual notices any issue with equipment.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Correctly report production in ERP system and ensure that the production orders have all the correct information and details.
Notify material handler of material needed and verify correct material.
Setup production according to production order details and drawings. Notify supervisor and quality control if there are any deviations between orders and drawings.
During plant down time this position assists with plant housekeeping, maintenance, and warehouse duties.
Understands companywide and departmental metrics and plans their work accordingly to meet those goals.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES
Participate in preventative maintenance to upkeep machine.
Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot machine problems fast and efficiently. Cooperating with additional areas such as maintenance and supervisors.

The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Burr Bench Operator to perform deburring, under filing, polishing and balancing operations on pump impellers of various metallurgies.
Essential Duties/Principal
Responsibilities:
Maintain high safety standards and follow all company safety rules
Balance impellers on balancing machines.
Clean impellers with files and pneumatic grinders to smooth surfaces
Under file and polish impellers following engineering chart or PIR instructions
Select correct arbor and bearing segments and set machines for balancing
Use standard setup sheets or make new setup sheets, recording machine adjustments for impellers not previously balanced
Set machine in operation to determine out of balance sections
Calculate amount of stock to grind to remove stock.
Utilize provided PPE when grinding (protective face hood, safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves, ear plugs, apron, sleeves) as well as employee owned metatarsal guard safety shoes.

Cash Handling
24. Performs cash counting, supervision of cashiers and cash register service to maximize guest experience and minimize loss of assets.

Ensures cashier drawers balance at the end of the shift, investigation of any shortages/overages (in partnership with Loss Prevention leaders), voiding and correcting cash register transactions and ensuring that bank deposits of store funds are completed accurately and in a timely manner and that all required paperwork has been correctly completed.
26. Conducts cash register operation in order to relieve cashiers during breaks and/or to ensure prompt guest service during busy sales periods or in the event of a shortage of cashiers on duty.
27. Ensures that sufficient precautionary steps are taken to reduce exposure to refund fraud - including working and reviewing regularly the DLPR and Daily Cashier's Reports.
28. Maintains accountability for store credit card.
Store Opening/Closing
29. Ensures that the store is opened/closed in accordance with policies and procedures, especially those relating to safety and security. It also includes opening and closing the safe and assessing high-level security information.
30. Ensures that all security mechanisms, procedures, and systems are in intended working order at all times.
31. Assigns work tasks to store partners, oversee opening of cash registers, and troubleshoot problems with the store, equipment and partners.

40. Adheres to and promotes established safety procedures and maintenance of clean, safe and healthy environment for store partners, guests and animals.

Store Maintenance Oversight
44. Coordinates and assigns routine store maintenance tasks as required to maintain the professional image, appearance and cleanliness of the store, to include sweeping/mopping the floors, dusting, washing the windows, facing the merchandise on the shelves, and any other repairs required, etc.
Marketing
45. Markets the store and its products, oversees planning of in-store and community events, such as adoptions, school visits and other local promotions and animal-welfare events.
46. Supervises and trains all partners to effectively boost sales volume.
47. Ensures that each partner and the store projects a professional image at all times and in all situations.
Supervisory Responsibility
Job duties include leadership responsibility for the following:
Recruitment, hiring, training, development and daily supervision of all store partners, including subordinate leaders and hourly store partners to include assignment delegation, instruction, follow-through, periodic performance reviews, safety and disciplinary action including separations when necessary.
Demonstration of exemplary guest service skills and coaching of store partners on Company standards.
Meet and/or exceed sales goals and coach store partners on selling techniques through daily sales and promotional events.
Control of expenses, inventory, and profitability in accordance with budgetary guidelines.
Communication of irregular or problematic situations to appropriate leaders or department at the Support Center(s).
Adheres to and promotes established safety procedures and maintenance of clean, safe and healthy environment for store partners, guests and animals.

Work Environment
The majority of job duties are conducted indoors, although merchandise receiving, merchandise carry-outs, or stock balancing will require leaving the store briefly. This position requires bending, kneeling, moving merchandise and standing for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs and pull 2000 lbs utilizing material handling equipment. Improper use of safety equipment and/or not following proper lifting techniques may pose of risk of injury to customers, pets, and store personnel. Follow all safety precautions and procedures.
Education and Experience
Minimum high school diploma (its equivalency i.e. GED) or the equivalent work experience.
Some college level business/management courses preferred. One or more years of management experience and 5 years retail experience is preferred. A working knowledge of general business practices is highly desirable, as are strong organizational skills.
A qualified applicant will possess an aptitude for demonstrating basic sales techniques and the ability to instruct others in their application. A qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate proficiency in the areas of mathematics, basic accounting relationships, analysis and problem-solving skills. Excellence in communication and a proficiency in computer skills are also required.
Bench Technician I - Region A
Position Description
I. Position Summary:
The Bench Technician 1 is responsible for the repair of the Lottery terminals and their associated peripherals. The position provides technician support to the field, emergency field support with service calls, assisting with shipping and receiving, and providing parts inventory control to the site in which they work.
II. Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Performs repair functions associated with the Lottery terminal and all associated peripherals under direct supervision.
Provide technical assistance via phone and on-site support.
Responsible for ensuring all equipment repaired at bench is reliable and all updagrades (ECO's) are completed.
Ensures that the field personnel is inventoried with an adequate terminal level.
Ships defective boards, sub assemblies, and any other equipment in a timely manner.
Ability to compile and analyze statistical information relating to field service efficiency.
Assists in escalated situations where additional staffing is required in the field to help with service calls, bench repair, or special events.
Provides inventory control of all terminal, peripheral, communications parts and consumables
Enters all repair data into Bench Repair database daily or as needed.
Maintains an acceptable level of customer service.
Helps to develop the diagnosing and repair capabilities of the field staff
Performs routine maintenance on company vehicle.
Maintains an acceptable driving record in accordance with the motor vehicle policy.
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
