This Lead Operator for a new ash processing venture will deploy a mobile material handling system for the processing of ash from energy from waste (EfW) facilities primarily for the recovery of scrap metals and potentially for the recovery of its mineral fraction for reuse. This role will be remotely based and will require up to 75% travel. The position will report into the Project Manager responsible for this new venture which is part of the Covanta Metals Management organization.
The Lead Operator's primary responsibility will include managing the day to day operations and maintenance of a mobile ash processing system that will be deployed at specific locations for approximately 2 to 6 months before being transported to a different location. An important aspect of this primary responsibility is measuring and optimizing the recovery of metals from mobile system to maximize its profitability.
In addition to supporting the Project Manager, the Lead Operator's role would be to direct/lead a subcontractor that would provide the labor for day to day operations and maintenance of the equipment. The role would require maintaining and evaluating operational and maintenance data and logs, monitoring operational costs, and performing inspections and preventative maintenance on the mobile processing system. Setting up and breaking down the mobile processing system at each location would also be the Lead Operator's responsibility, and preparing the equipment for transportation is also part of this role.
Experience with various material handling equipment, including, conveyors, crushing equipment, magnets and eddy current separators is important. Experience in operating front-end loaders, excavators and fork lifts is important.

Warehouse Operator / Burner
The Burner position performs the set-up and maintenance of equipment. The Burner will also be responsible for operating an NC controller, welding, grinding and material work. A successful individual will demonstrate the ability to be efficient in a warehouse environment and work well with a team.

This position will provide engineering design and oversight guidance in the design, specification, procurement and installation of materials handling equipment used in the operations of a modern Energy from Waste (EfW) Facility.
Under the direction of Senior Director of Mechanical Design Engineering, you will provide Operational and Maintenance support including recommendations for improvements on existing systems throughout the Covanta fleet.

The Burner reports to the Facilities & Operations Manager. The Burner is responsible for preparing purchased scrap through use of a burning torch, while ensuring that all of his/her efforts are compliant with the company Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
