Manpower of Huntington, WV is seeking an experienced motor winder eager to join a well established company that solves the toughest water-related challenges. With five locations in four states, we provide products and service for the mining industry, municipal water and wastewater facilities, industrial factories, and oil and gas companies.
Reporting directly to the Territory Manager, this motor winder will troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, rebuild and test AC and DC motors. We need a reliable individual committing to maintaining high standards of service and quality.
All tools provided.
This is a full-time positions that may require overtime when needed. Weekend work and night work is not ordinary but occasionally required.

You will be assigned to work 2nd shift at our Norwood, Ohio facility and your training will be conducted on either 1st or 2nd shift. In this position you will join the collective bargaining Union.
Your responsibilities will include.
Efficiently wind and perform operations necessary to insure quality stators per specified manufacturing methods
Efficiently perform all operations necessary to ensure Stators conform to all quality standards
Check dimensions during manufacturing process with electrical and mechanical measuring equipment
Visually check and reject or accept Stators for material defects per specified quality standards
Transport Stators from staging area to the next workstation
Use and read electrical and mechanical measuring devices to check, reject or accept Stators for dimensional acceptance
What do you need to qualify for this role?
High School diploma or equivalent
Must have the physical ability to perform work required
Must be able to read and understand all drawings and Bill of Materials related to Stators
Ability to read a tape measure
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
What other knowledge or experience will assist you in this position?
- Experience working with electrical test equipment (resistance meters, hi-pot testers, surge testers, etc.)
- Experience working with resistance brazing equipment and/or torch brazing equipment

Electric Motor Winder - Lake City
Inspect various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment for damage and evidence of electrical malfunctions.
Test condition of windings according to EASA Standards.
Illustrate and/or document all relevant data specific to unit's electro-magnetic characteristics, operating conditions, existing damage or intended serviceability.
Dismantle and/or strip damaged or unserviceable electro-mechanical equipment.
Prepare all reusable parts for rewinding and inspect renewed parts for hidden, structural damage or unusual conditions.
Rewind various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment, including but not limited to: single phase, three-phase, dc fields, armatures, wound rotors and transformers. Observe proper insulating techniques and/or requirements during rewinding.
Test rewound electro-mechanical equipment according to EASA Standards and document test results.
Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis.
Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, including but not limited to: winding machines, test panels, surge testers, core-loss testers, cut-off saws, burnout ovens, back ovens, grinders, cranes, forklift trucks, brazing units, dip tanks, VPI systems and various hand-held power and non-power tools.
Observe all safety procedures and policies and use proper protective equipment (especially eye, ear protection and steel toe shoes/boots, gloves, etc.)
Keep work area clean and organized.
Report all injuries, near misses and accidents immediately to a supervisor.

Let's give you an idea of what type of Essential Functions we are talking about:
- Operate a fabric un-winder / winder machine -- that is right, you run it, you adjust it.
- Load and thread material off of an approximately 4ft. diameter x 2ft. roll into the machine's rollers for the unwinding process.
- The machine will rewind the fabric onto smaller cardboard cores making rolls approximately 5 inches x 2 ft.
- Your machine operator job ensures proper loading of the large roll and producing smaller rolls that are within specifications.
- As a Machine operator you will make minor adjustments for alignment and tightness / looseness of the smaller rolls.
- Part of the Machine operator’s work is to document the type of fabric used and amount.
- Machine operator will attend shift safety meeting and ensure cleanliness of work area at the end of shift. PPE is provided and required.
- A qualified applicant will have some experience with mechanical aptitude, ability to adjust machine parts, dials, and switches.

Responsible for operation of extrusion equipment; including but not limited to, product quality, following all SOCs, winder flips, box making, core and resin supply constancy. Must comply with all safety, quality, GMPs, productivity and cleanliness standards.
