As the first step in the manufacturing process, the Blending Operator is responsible for ensuring that all materials are thoroughly mixed so they can be made into tablets or capsules, as per formula instructions.
Second shift M-F From 3pm to 11:30pm
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Required to competently operate blending machinery independently as well as within a team environment
Match all labels with batch records
Document blending process information as per SOP
Load and unload blending machines
Monitor blending operation periodically and report any abnormal conditions to the manager
Personal responsibility for following safety rules, SOPs and cGMP guidelines
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
Prior manufacturing experience preferred
Military experience a plus

Position Purpose and Objectives
Under direction, the Ingestible Blending Operator is directly responsible for blending raw materials according to written procedures, using a combination of tanks, agitators, pumps, heating and cooling systems and, all other applicable equipment to produce high quality and consistently repeatable liquid dietary supplement and beverage products.
Essential Job Functions
Receives bulk materials, weighs and subdivides materials in strict accordance with manufacturing procedures; loads into automatic equipment and makes necessary adjustments to ensure proper mix of ingredients.
Ensures equipment and working area meets all required sanitary standards; uses small hand tools to disassemble pumps, receivers, mixers and other equipment, cleans according to set procedures, and reassembles prior to mixing a new batch of product.

Job Description: & Requirements
The Batch-Blend Operator is responsible for operating continuous flow or vat-type equipment to process milk, cream, and other dairy products, following specified methods and formulas. High responsibility - responsible for quality, food safety and product specifications.
Monitor blending equipment according to the specifications of components and blend amounts.
Control valves, pumps, speed and temperatures in accordance with industry standards for blending.
Must adhere to established testing procedures and provide required samples to the laboratory.
Must be able to assemble and disassemble equipment for proper cleaning/sanitizing and operating per manufacturer instructions.
Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments.
Engage in dismantling, assembling, and installing refrigeration equipment.
Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's.

Description and ResponsibilitiesCompound formulas accurately by weight and by ingredients and ensure that the best methodology is utilized based upon the particular product or mix. Possess and apply working knowledge of all raw materials before use, ie: mixing/heating to ensure quality and consistency in batches.
Utilize inventory lot rotation (FIFO) for all materials used. Possess and apply working knowledge of all pumps, mixers, scales, fork trucks, high density storage units, meters, and computers. Follow all manufacturing instructions on formula batch sheet using proper mixing techniques to ensure product quality.
Properly label all batches submitted to the lab for evaluation. Follow all 5S and Good Manufacturing procedures to maintain good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations. Must have experience within the Flavor or a closely related industry.

Operations Specialist - Blending
The Operation Specialist is the floor leader of their assigned area. They work closely with the shift supervisor to assign and resolve employee issues. They are the technical expert within their area and are responsible for troubleshooting product and process related issues. They must be able to determine when to involve product development, quality, and/or maintenance and must be able to interact effectively and concisely with those support groups. The work shift is 3rd, and work hours are 10:45p - 7a.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Working closely with the Shift Supervisor, coordinate shift activities including shift assignments and employee problem resolution.
Troubleshoot problems, including:
Machine issues including adjustments to settings to try and get product within specification
Problem product issues
Escalate to next level if resolution cannot be determined
Scheduling trials of potential resolutions from the Product Development and/or Technical Services groups
Communicate all issues with Shift Supervisor and/or Department Manager
Follow-up on all issues to ensure resolutions work and are implemented in a timely manner
Approve the use of all production equipment prior to the start of each lot. Ensure rooms and equipment are properly cleaned, all necessary paperwork is present, and all materials required are available.
Support the Trainer and/or Training Department in getting training completed in your assigned area.
Maintain necessary paperwork (regulatory and departmental).
