Responsibilities SUMMARY: Develop and utilize National Instruments LabVIEW Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, modify, rework, and function test a wide variety of defective electronic equipment.

- Diagnose, disassemble and repair vehicle transmissions from the dynamic Ford product line.
- Test vehicle transmissions prior to installation/repair.
- Keep accurate records of completed and outstanding transmission repair jobs.
- Consistently meet deadlines for completed work.
- High school or equivalent education
- 2 years experience as a Michigan Certified Transmission Technician
- Ford certification is a plus but not required
- Good driving record
- 5-day work week, full-time

Parsons is seeking to hire an Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) systems engineer in the San Francisco Bay Area. The candidate will be required to perform systems engineering functions related to the implementation of a CBTC-ATS system, including development of performance requirements for the procurement of a CBTC system, evaluation of Supplier Proposals and evaluation of designs to verify compliance with system technical requirements. The candidate should be familiar with the CBTC systems architecture as defined in IEEE 1474 regarding, automatic train supervision, automatic train protection and automatic train operation. The candidate will be expected to be able to lead technical meetings with the client, suppliers and the consultant team regarding the technical aspects of CBTC design and implementation.
Derive functional/performance requirements and documentation for ATS systems based on client needs and requirements
Produce system and subsystem requirement specifications, interface specifications and test requirement documents by analyzing, decomposing, modeling and refining requirements and typical train control domain requirements
Evaluate or prepare operational plans and reports that relate to system operational and performance requirements
Interface to agency Operations and Maintenance personnel to understand typical functions such as automatic train regulation, incident management, alarm management, junction management, access control and data warehouses
Present technical designs to clients and/or engineering/management groups in clear, complete, concise and non-ambiguous terms.
Lead/chair client discussions by professionally and accurately communicating the system design information
Perform system design tradeoff analysis and provide technical direction
Review and comment on top level technical designs and documentation to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
Identify technical risks and mitigations
Maintain high personal productivity while working interactively with other team members and client groups.
Supervise sub-consultants and other system engineers by defining work, coaching, monitoring their progress and giving general direction and guidance
Provide work plan estimates and descriptions based on knowledge of the work and project requirements
Provide support to the Engineering Director
Skills and Knowledge
Knowledge of requirements management tools, such as DOORS
Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio
Strong technical writing skills and interpersonal communication skills
Knowledge of related industry systems engineering standards and processes and best practices
Has understanding and experience with industry best practice structured engineering design and development processes
Years of Experience
- Five years minimum in ATS system design and/or implementation
- B. A.
