Hibbing Taconite Company (HTC) is located in the center of Minnesota's Mesabi Iron Range near the cities of Hibbing and Chisholm. Monitor and dispatch equipment, operators, and material to meet the mine plan.
Responsible for the quality execution of this work and to report and recommend solutions to deviations from the plan when work can/or does not meet plan.
Provide coaching, leadership and direction for the department personnel.
Promote and encourage teamwork and high performance standards throughout the department and oversee the disciplinary action process when necessary.
Identify opportunities for improvement in the department.
Review and update employee schedule and equipment lists.
Complete and distribute "crew sheet" (crew member/equipment/assignment) and perform crew lineup activities.
Set up the dispatch system for current shift objectives.
Monitor dispatch system and adjust as necessary to ensure efficient execution of the mine plan.
Monitor crude ore blend quality delivered to plants and adjust as necessary to achieve mine plan blend targets.
Monitor and manage mine communications (production, services and maintenance).
Communicate with Plants any significant changes to the operation or plan.
Work with Supervisors and/or Engineering to review and recommend changes to the plan.
Track and document dispatch system issues and work with Dispatch Engineer to improve overall system performance.
Provide Supervisors reports from the dispatch system.
Understand and implement standard work for dispatch system operation and work with Dispatch Engineer to develop best practices, update standards, document deviations and review performance.
Work with Training to develop training documentation and best practice standards.
Perform end of shift reporting. Review to understand the previous day/shift performance.
Work with Section Manager to understand, implement and provide feedback for improving mining systems.
Skilled with P.C.'s; utilizing Microsoft Word processing, spreadsheets, and Outlook.
Ability to learn Modular Dispatch software
Ability to operate calmly under pressure while monitoring various field functions, multiple radios and phone calls.
Must have strong verbal, written, and persuasive communication skills.
The ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, management, vendors and/or contractors.
Education & Experience:
Two year degree in construction, mining, or equivalent industrial/mining experience; 4 year degree preferred
3+ years of mining, construction, or other industrial experience
Experience leading large crews of equipment operators
Ability to adapt to various shift changes

Blow Mold Machine Operator
Perform all tasks involved in the production of Alpha Packaging’s products. Machine Operators will operate and maintain assigned pieces of production equipment on a continuous basis in order to meet or exceed job standards and quality specifications. The incumbent is expected to be a self-starter, a good manager of time and work professionally and independently. Duties and Responsibilities
On a daily basis will be responsible for assigned production lines to ensure that product is produced in accordance with established quality and product standards. Must familiarize yourself with the daily production goals so they are achieved for each line assignment.
Evaluate and discuss the operation of assigned machinery with the Machine Operator from the previous shift. Will operate and adjust production line equipment, in accordance with established production standards as well as perform preventative maintenance and report any problems.
Machine Operators will perform quality checks on containers to ensure proper specifications are maintained. Document any problems or adjustments made to assigned machinery.
Check and maintain defined levels of all raw materials used in production on assigned machinery. Keep all assigned machines and area neat and clean of debris.
Follows plant specified job specifications and task lists.
3-5 years of experience operating blow molding machines.
