LSC Communications is a large scale book distributor in the
Appleton area. LSC employs up to 150 employees, and distribute up to 200,000books a day. We are seeking a Forklift Hoist Operator 1 on 1st shift (base hours 7am-3pm) atour Appleton distribution facility on Lake Park Road.
Operate a forklift, and a walkie rider routinely
Load, and unload trucks
Wraps and/or stages pallets
Hand picks product off the conveyor line
Organizes/Stack parcels onto pallets
Counts pallets to ensure accuracy
Operates order picker as needed
Assists in other areas of facility as needed
This warehouse role will be performing tasks in a safe manner, and perform otherduties as assigned.

Hoist Operator 1 - Press Utility (38435)
Drive forklift truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, fork-grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move raw paper materials and in process products and finished products, equipment, or materials in warehouse, storage yard, or factory. May load and unload semi trailer trucks.
Maintain accurate inventory and report any discrepancies. May load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device. Perform safety checks on lifts. May lubricate truck, recharge batteries, fill fuel tank, or replace liquefied-gas tank.
Must be skilled in handling controls for starting, stopping, backings, and driving fork lift or clamp truck through aisles in building, up and down ramps, and in and out of railroad cars, trucks, etc.; and, for lifting, lowering, and tilting forks by moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate controls. Must know how high, wide, and long the fork lift truck and its load are, and how much the fork lift truck can lift.
Good special ability to identify how high and wide a doorway and an aisle must be to drive the fork lift truck and its load; how high and wide the shelf, bin, etc., must be to place the load; and how high the load must be lifted to reach the shelf or bin. Must be able to recognize whether the fork lift truck is able to lift the load and whether the load is properly balanced. Knowledge of the layout of the storage area to be able to find and place items without need for detailed instructions.

Day in the Life

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
As a Hoist Technician, you will conduct post rental inspection/check-in procedures, preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment failures, conduct annual inspections, repair and recondition swing stage hoist motors to maintain proper and safe operating conditions.

Operator Helper - Equipment Operator
Under supervision, perform semi-skilled manual work in connection with an entry level position in power plant operation. Assist equipment operators while learning the following job duties:
Isolate, clean, open, replace, inspect, close and return to service plant equipment. Isolate equipment and place/remove clearance tags in the plant and switchyard. Operate, regulate, adjust, clean and perform minor maintenance on plant auxiliary systems.
Monitor and inspect all plant equipment for normal operation. Identify and report abnormal conditions to the proper authority and write work orders. Operate, clean, service and lubricate portable power driven tools and equipment.
Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition. Utilize portable meters, analyzers and equipment to conduct tests and monitoring. Lubricate and check lubrication equipment; adjust packing glands as necessary and perform necessary operative maintenance, using appropriate hand tools.
Operate oil filtering equipment. Erect and remove simple scaffolding and rigging. Perform routine cleaning of plant areas and equipment, including outside areas, as assigned.
Load, unload, move and handle materials, supplies and equipment; open boxes, barrels, bags and other materials using material handling equipment.
Monitor water chemistry as required. Maintain water pH and follow EPA guidelines as applicable.
Assist in preparing boilers and auxiliaries for operation and removal from service. If applicable, monitor coal feed to mills and burners and observe conditions of fires and furnaces. Hand lance slag in boilers, hand- operating soot blowers, unplugging ash lines, disposing of clinkers and other similar work.
Use flow diagrams to identify system piping and equipment and revise these prints as required. Make required equipment checks and assist in performing tests and preparing related reports, graphs and curves. Perform duties in accordance with Company's safety rules, operating regulations and practices and report unsafe conditions and practices.
Train for and carry out assignments in firefighting, first aid and other emergency response programs as required. Perform other job duties as assigned.

This position is responsible for operating electric, diesel-electric, or gas-turbine-electric locomotives; interpreting train orders, signals, and rules and regulations; transporting freight; timely and correct switching and placement of rail cars.
