- Operate a fabric un-winder / re-winder machine -- that is right, you run it, you adjust it.
- Load and thread material off of an approximately 4ft. diameter x 2ft. roll into the machine's rollers for the unwinding process.
- The machine will rewind the fabric onto smaller cardboard cores making rolls approximately 5 inches x 2 ft.
- Your machine operator job ensures proper loading of the large roll and producing smaller rolls that are within specifications.
- As a Machine operator you will make minor adjustments for alignment and tightness / looseness of the smaller rolls.
- Part of the Machine operator’s work is to document the type of fabric used and amount.
- Machine operator will attend shift safety meeting and ensure cleanliness of work area at the end of shift. PPE is provided and required.
- A qualified applicant will have some experience with mechanical aptitude, ability to adjust machine parts, dials, and switches.

Sewing Machine Operator Trainee - Manhattan, KS
The primary responsibility of the Sewing Machine Operator Trainee to ensure that orders in the respective Production area are embellished accurately, on time and in accordance with GTM quality standards. Team members work together performing various duties, including but not limited to: operation of cut and sew equipment, order preparation and quality assurance. Machine Operators will be cross trained on all sublimation machines.
The hours for this position are 1st shift (7:00am
Friday. Occasional weekends are required during peak season.

Roles of Team Members:
Cutter: Cut out pattern pieces and bundle according to size, ensure garment size runs are complete, and confirm accuracy of size tags and modesty panels. Also organize and track tubs on the output wall.
Press Operator: Press artwork onto garments, identify fabric defects and/or artwork issues, track fabric waste and stock inventory. Operation will require running multiple presses at once.
Print Operator: Coordinate and organize orders based on priority, calibrate colors for all printers, layout artwork to print onto transfer paper, track consumables (ink, paper, etc.) and identify lines in artwork, color dropouts, and or print head issues.
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent.

This position is responsible for operating industrial sewing machines to complete hanging signs and graphics for retail displays using a variety of fabrics and materials. Operates in a high-volume production facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assembles graphics and hems per established work instructions utilizing Matic/Consew sewing machines. This includes sewing beading to fabric, applying hardware and fasteners and using decorative seams
Operates sewing machines using foot lever and hand control, with the ability to QC product on the fly
Determines which seam style to use according to specifications on order/ticket
Aligns fabric, backing, aluminum stays, elastic, Velcro, follows seams, edges, or marking
Sews parts with various types of stitches such as vertical stitched OR straight stitched
Trims excess threads and edges of parts
Uses gauges to insure proper placement of stitches on each piece of fabric
Measures and cuts textiles accurately according to design specifications
Hand repairs any weaknesses
