Body Interior Materials Engineer
Support the materials engineer with the vehicle teams and core engineering to resolve material compatibility, warranty, production, and processing problems encountered during the life of a part or subsystem. The emphasis is on teamwork with Ford engineering, material suppliers, Tier one's, purchasing, laboratory engineers, other materials engineers and manufacturing plant personnel.

Attend core functional tech club meetings.

Supporting Research and Innovation Center in special research projects.

Bachelor of Science Degree in a related Engineering discipline. Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Materials Science preferred.

Duties and responsibilities:
Wire Standard Products models to P&I, blueprint and WD drawings.
Complete P&I, WD and Blueprint training.
Install heat trace tape per P&I and WD.
Complete basic computer training, utilize JDE inquiry files, ESS, QMS.
Pass utility wiring qualifying exam.
Progression to wire all Standard Products models and at least (4) station built model families.
Systematically troubleshoot electrical failures and problems and assist in determining solutions.
Progression to wire 4 additional station built model families.
High school education or equivalent.
Must have the basic reading skills necessary to perform the functions of the job.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to troubleshoot problems.
Basic understanding of electricity and motor control systems.
Capable of reading and understanding bills of material, piping and instrumentation instructions, and wiring diagrams.
Must be involved in 6S activities, value stream mapping, TPM, and collection of QCPC data.
Lifting up to 35 lbs. Lifting over 35 lbs. requires a lifting device, crane/hoist, or assistance by another associate.
Possible shock from high pot testing.
Must understand and comply with the 5 Cardinal Rules.
Participate in EHS quarterly audits, if required.
Required to wear the proper PPE equipment for the work area.

- Perform repetitive wiring/racking, unwiring/unracking duties and move plating fixtures within plant following prescribed methods and practice, as well as transforming parts from one form of material handling container to another.
