Job Description: Summary
This role will support the Boiler and Refrigeration operations for the Richland palnt.
Perform regular assigned checks.

Ability to perform NH3 check and repairs from starting point to end use of chilled, H20, glycol, air systems
Active member in PSM Team functions including Mechanical Integrity, Process Hazard Analysis, Management of Change, etc.
Troubleshooting of non-refrigerated infrastructure and repair of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical equipment associated with the facility i.e., wastewater system/chemicals
Documenting work through CMMS-PMs and Work Orders. (Environmental reports, etc.)
Adhere to all company policies, plant rules and regulations, and safety rules and regulations as detailed in the Employee Handbook;
Comply with WSDA, OSHA, EPA, and all other regulatory agencies;
Adhere to good manufacturing practices to prevent product contamination;
Work overtime as required; and work "off-shifts" to cover departmental vacations by other techs.
Perform other duties as required or assigned by Engineering Department/PSM. Job Qualifications
Two years verifiable experience in ammonia (NH3) refrigeration and compressor room operation training or equivalent
Knowledge in industrial electricity, PLCs, microprocessors and associated components is a plus
Knowledgeable in environmental safety, PSM, and PHA
Prefer experienced candidates having steam and hot water boilers, plumbing, welding, vacuum systems, compressed air, fluid hydraulics, and pneumatic backgrounds.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical refrigeration or equivalent studies.
Minimum 2 years verifiable work associated with ammonia refrigeration or equivalent.
Strong hands-on experience with PM Programs, CMMS System.
Special Knowledge, Abilities, Skills
Physically able to occasionally lift/carry 100 pounds.
Physically able to walk/stand 100% of work time.
Must be capable of climbing onto and into process and packaging equipment for inspection, troubleshooting and repair.

STATEMENT OF JOB The Boiler Operator operates 400 hsp boiler to generate heating and processing steam, sampling and testing water from the boiler and boiler feed lines, making manual adjustments of valves to correct steam pressure, fuel-air ratio and regulating water entering the boiler house and manufacturing areas.
Maintains daily log on test results, regenerates Zeolite water softeners, performs emergency minor repairs and blows down boilers daily.
Operates Murray boiler when Keeler boiler is down for maintenance by monitoring charts and switching fuel supply from gas to propane as directed.
Monitors, controls and assures proper chemical supply in waste water treatment plant.
Collects water samples (2) from the boiler and boiler feed line and performs routine tests by observing points or color changes as solutions are mixed and added.
Tests are performed to determine alkalinity, total dissolved solids and phosphates.
Results are recorded on Water Analysis sheets.
Water is treated so as to bring it within prescribed limits for water softness.
Prepares Boiler Plant summary sheet, performance log and makes calculations such as efficiency and evaporation rate according to established formulas.
Prepares daily Industrial Discharge data sheet.
Regenerates Zeolite water softeners by back washing filters, preparing salt brine, according to established procedures.
Operates boiler by performing a variety of operations such as manipulating valves that control steam used in production, checking items such as water and air temperature, and recording on Data Sheets.
Performs emergency minor repairs on pumps such as tightening, packing.

The Department of Waste Resources serves the County's solid waste disposal needs by providing for efficient and effective landfilling of County non-hazardous waste, protecting the environment, and promoting recycling in order to ensure a safe and healthy community for current and future generations. The department operates six landfills, has a contract agreement for waste disposal with an additional private landfill, administers several transfer station leases, and reviews and approves new construction projects to ensure waste diversion goals are met. The Department of Waste Resources has an exciting opportunity for multiple Senior Heavy Equipment Mechanics! The Senior Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding major components on D9 Dozers, 637D Scrapers, Graders, Landfill Compactors and Loaders, in addition to miscellaneous heavy equipment. Responsibilities include inspecting, diagnosing and repairing engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, emission systems and air conditioning systems on numerous types of heavy equipment, as well as component exchanges and rebuilds.
The most competitive candidates will possess broad experience performing repairs specifically on D9 or larger Dozers, and 637D Scrapers. Experience utilizing Microsoft Office and a Fleet Management system is desired.
Additionally, candidates with competency utilizing Caterpillar diagnostic software, those with experience functioning in a supervisory capacity, and those with welding experience are highly desired. The selected candidate will be required to supply their own tools in order to perform essential functions of the position.

Experience: One year of experience working as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic with Riverside County.

The Maintenance Mechanic / General Building Mechanic supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes to mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities. The C.R. England Diesel Mechanic Scholarship Program is open to first and second year students enrolled in San Bernardino Valley College's diesel mechanic degree program. This program helps top students gain practical experience while providing financial assistance for diesel mechanic school.
Provides $1,000.00 a semester paid at the beginning of the semester with a minimum average grade requirement of 3.0.
Provides a $500.00 tool allowance paid prior to the beginning of the first semester to assist with tool requirements.
Scholarship students are expected to work a minimum of 15-20 hours per week with C.R. England during semesters and are eligible to work full time during school break periods. Students may work more than the minimum hours if their grades are satisfactory.
School work and grades are the highest priorities. Work schedules and hours will be adjusted to accommodate school priorities.
Target minimum wage for first year student scholarship employees will be $14.00 hourly depending on skills and qualifications.
Provides $2,000.00 a semester paid at the beginning of the semester with a minimum of a 3.0 average.

Carry out preventative maintenance and repair programs. Maintain effective equipment maintenance schedules and records on all company equipment and tools.
Assist Maintenance Manager in the repair and fabrication of equipment by performing basic to advanced welding techniques (MIG, TIG, ARC).
Analyze parts and supply stock to ensure an adequate and cost effective inventory.
Identify and work with outside specialty shops (machine, hydraulic, electrical, etc.) to perform special or time effective work when needed.
Act as technical expert and advise personnel when to take equipment out of service due to mechanical problems.
Monitor equipment and tool warranty programs to insure warranty claims are forwarded to Asset Manager for processing
Assist in maintaining all corporate equipment files including inventory, repair and maintenance, etc.
Perform additional assignments as requested by supervisors
3 - 5 years' experience working with heavy industrial construction equipment. Familiarity with grinding and grooving concrete construction equipment a plus. Technical training in equipment repair and operation or equivalent combination of technical training and experience will be considered.
Previous experience working with diesel engines, electrical and hydraulic repair is a must..
Diamond blade equipment service and repair a plus.
Experienced in basic to advanced welding techniques (MIG, TIG, ARC) is a must.
Must possess practical knowledge of the function, operation, and maintenance of construction equipment.
Work in inclement weather in and around repair facility.
Ability to work both days / nights, weekends, extended hours, and overtime as needed.
Strong construction technical skills and knowledge required
Strong sense of urgency with a focus on quality and safety.
Physical exertion required. Including, but not limited to, walking, standing, stooping, bending and lifting up to 90 pounds.
Basic computer literacy working with MS Office (Excel, Word) and email a plus.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Basic to intermediate arithmetic skills.

The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel engines and power generating equipment of various size. This also includes all auxiliary equipment, to include pumps, blower etc. All buildings, wastewater treatment plant equipment and machines and machine tools. The incumbent will possess a working knowledge of electrical and control systems and have reached a high level of competency within a specific trade or discipline (e.g. welding, millwright, mechanics), but will have a functioning ability level in multiple areas. The incumbent will be responsible to guide and train less experienced personnel in areas of expertise.

Special Skills/Abilities Needed:
Knowledge of treatment plant electrical and control systems, machine equipment operations as well as proper procedures for maintenance and repair of such facilities
Knowledge or/and ability to safely operate electrical test equipment, conduit bender, grinders, nibblers, angle iron cutter, hydraulic press, hoist and other hand or power tools equipment related to the job
Must be familiar with all safety regulations and be prepared to work in and supervise confined space entry, and LOTO procedures
Ability to manipulate and understand the required functions of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Ability to cut with a cutting torch and an arc rod and ability to solder and weld
Must hold and maintain a valid NYS driver's license
Repair and maintain pumps, valves, motors and other process equipment. Perform "cold" electrical connect and disconnects as part of the repair and maintenance functions. Installs electrical conduit and pulls and terminates low voltage wire connections.
Set up and proficiently operate machine tools to design, make and repair mechanisms and equipment, such as shafts, bushings, sleeves, gears, bearings and other related parts as assigned.
Fabricate parts and/or install, adjust, dismantle and reassemble machines and plant equipment
Set up and proficiently operate various tools including, but not limited to: lathes, contour saws, cutoff saws, hand/bench/surface grinders, milling machines, spray welders, gas welders and various hand tools and precision measuring instruments
Operate and use hoists, lifts, air hammers, masonry drills, grinders, welders and cutting equipment and other power and hand tools to safety accomplish assigned tasks
Perform welding functions on buildings and equipment in the treatment plant including repair and fabrication work
Study specifications such as blueprints, electrical schematics, line diagrams, sketches and/or descriptions of parts to be replaced, and plan sequence of operations
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of plant equipment as assigned
Replenish parts and supplies using standard purchasing procedures. Maintain manual and/or computerized work orders and records as directed
Provide assistance and direction to less experienced Electro mechanics and/or assigned helpers
Responsible for inspecting and ensuring that all assigned projects completed by direct crews are completed fully and accurately
May provide support to other skilled trades employees
Responsible for general housekeeping of maintenance shop, job sites, work areas and other areas as assigned including, but not limited to sweeping, dusting, mapping, cleaning and paining as necessary to maintain areas to Company standards
Observes all on-the-job safety regulations
Other related tasks as assigned
Work Experience Needed:
Three (3) to Five (5) years' experience as an Electro-Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or Industrial technician
Two years of related education at a college, trade school or equivalent may be substituted for experience
Completion of recognized Apprenticeship program
