As an Apprentice Boilermaker you will be responsible for Construct, assemble, maintain, and repair stationary steam boilers and boiler house auxiliaries. Align structures or plate sections to assemble boiler frame tanks or vats, following blueprints. Work involves use of hand and power tools, plumb bobs, levels, wedges, dogs, or turnbuckles. Assist in testing assembled vessels. Direct cleaning of boilers and boiler furnaces. Inspect and repair boiler fittings, such as safety valves, regulators, automatic-control mechanisms, water columns, and auxiliary machines. 1) Bell, bead with power hammers, or weld pressure vessel tube ends, in order to ensure leakproof joints. 2) Bolt or arc-weld pressure vessel structures and parts together, using wrenches and welding equipment. 3) Examine boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, and vats to locate defects such as leaks, weak spots, and defective sections so that they can be repaired. 4) Inspect assembled vessels and individual components, such as tubes, fittings, valves, controls, and auxiliary mechanisms, to locate any defects. 5) Install manholes, handholes, taps, tubes, valves, gauges, and feedwater connections in drums of water tube boilers, using hand tools. 6) Install refractory bricks and other heat-resistant materials in fireboxes of pressure vessels. 7) Lay out plate, sheet steel, or other heavy metal, and locate and mark bending and cutting lines, using protractors, compasses, and drawing instruments or templates. 8) Locate and mark reference points for columns or plates on boiler foundations, following blueprints and using straightedges, squares, transits, and measuring instruments. 9) Position, align, and secure structural parts and related assemblies to boiler frames, tanks, or vats of pressure vessels, following blueprints.

The Certified Fitter is a front-line worker in Carle Medical Supply - Urbana warehouse facility specializing in providing mastectomy prosthesis products for Boutique, and carrying out a wide array of other tasks including specializing in our software applications testing, and training that enhance system operations. ie: EDI system set up (Ordering process & Patient shipment process), and creates new processes to enhance efficiencies within software system.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Associates Related Field or Five (5) years of experience in medical equipment with progressive responsibility. CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Certified Mastectomy Fitter (CMF) Illinois and Driver's License Illinois. Certified Mastectomy Fitter (CMF) must be obtained within two (2) years from start date in position. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Five (5) years Related Field OTHER REQUIREMENTS Knowledge of inventory management, multi task orientated. Knowledge of USS ' HDMS software, Microsoft applications, Customer Service skill set, DME billing. Essential Functions:
Creates and maintains an environment of continuous improvement in all processes related to effectiveness and efficiency of product research, ordering, receiving, labeling, stocking, show room exhibits, and show room display to ensure market competitiveness and profitability for mastectomy boutique.
Provides fitting services for Mastectomy prosthesis and garments, lymphedema products, compression garments, wigs. This process also includes; Intake process of patient, requesting garment quotes from vendor, providing insurance verification process for validating payment outcomes, product ordering, receiving, and distributing.
Provide services related to custom lymphedema garments request by Carle Therapy Services which include; Intake process of patient, requesting garment quotes from vendor, providing insurance verification process for validating payment outcomes, product ordering, receiving, and distributing.
Software super user; includes testing, training, enhancing system operations / EDI system set up (Ordering process & Patient shipment process), and creates new processes to enhance efficiencies within software system.
Provides work order documentation support to Customer Service, Repair, and Billing staff to ensure clean claim processing or required payment dispute follow up.
Develop education training programs to assist in proper staff education.
Monitor and work with staff to resolve work order task issues to ensure timely billing.
Provide backup assistance in all locations by researching, locating, providing information, ordering, receiving, pricing, and ensuring a fast response to customer's special requests.
Assist with developing, maintaining, and processing month end reports to ensure financial assets and records are updated and transferred correctly between Carle Medical Supply and Carle Foundation Hospital.
Perform daily register report for all branch locations. (Danville, Mattoon, & Urbana.)
