We are looking for students to join our Farm Bureau Financial Services BOLT (Building Opportunities through Leadership and Technology) program within our Information Technology department. Our BOLT Program is designed as a student-led team internship program helping to develop leadership as well as technology skills. As a member of this program, you will have a variety of assignments, with mentors and points of contact to lead and support you in working as a member of an Agile development team. Our BOLT Program focuses on innovative projects and technologies and consists of a team of 5-6 resources each semester dedicated to delivering a specific initiatives.
Our Fall 2018 BOLT Program will be responsible for:
Sales and Client-facing mobile solutions projects
Note – Fall program is Mondays and Wednesdays from 9am – 5pm
Our BOLT program consists of a 90/10 approach, meaning that 90% of your work time will involve working on projects within your hired work area. The final 10% will be spent in shared experiences across the organization, where you will have an opportunity to really learn about our culture and work environment. Below is a high-level representation of the 10 week experience.
- Onsite orientation, team mentor and supervisor meetings, and project objective overview
- Project delivery execution including weekly status updates and deliverables
- FBFS led training and development on the insurance industry and the FBFS organization

Ensures efficient operations of one or multiple locations and/or distribution centers. Responsibilities may include financial management, operational performance and analysis, planning and execution, distribution, fleet management, inventory management, vendor management, and leadership, including performance management. Not responsible for sales.
Responsible for specialized warehouse tasks in loading, unloading, order pulling, shipping, returns, forklift, fabrication, counter, or may have a generalized role working in all departments.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Complete tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, picking, stocking, staging, fabrication and transportation of goods.
Load and unload materials to and from designated storage area, such as racks, shelves, or vehicles. Stack or pile materials, such as lumber, boards, or pallets
Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
Verify computations against physical count of stock.

Receive and fill orders or sell supplies, materials, and products to installers and subcontractors.

A minimum of two years previous experience in operating loaders and dozers (980, 988, D8, etc.) in a plant environment is required. This position also requires solid knowledge and understanding of the capabilities of the equipment as well as specifications of different finished materials.

This individual is responsible operating mobile equipment loaders, dozers, etc. in a sand and gravel mining operation. Will operate loaders (980, 988, etc.) to load aggregates for processing, feed the plant(s) and to safely load customers' trucks with desired specification product within legal load limits.
Will operate a loader to strip and prep the site for mining and to push material closer to the feeder for processing. Responsible for maintaining adequate feed of materials, as required and maintaining stockpiles, cleans yard and plant areas. Individual will performs thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and accurately completes daily mobile equipment reports; perform duties safely, responsibly and proficiently while observing all safety, health and environmental rules and practices.
Must follow established traffic patterns avoiding tire hazards and other hazardous conditions and promptly report any unsafe conditions. Will maintain good housekeeping practices on equipment and in the plant. Observe the plant and report any necessary maintenance or adjustments that may be required and visually checks material being produced for compliance with specifications. In addition, this position will participate in maintenance, repair, and general plant housekeeping activities.
