Semi-skilled employee who under direct supervision safely assist with maintenance and repair of heavy equipment such as, but not limited to: Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Rubber Tire and Track Dozers, Front-end Loaders, and Motor Graders.
Assists Mechanics with maintenance activities on transmissions, engines, brakes, differentials, pumps, motors, torque converters, final drives and other heavy equipment systems or components

Performs housekeeping duties and work area checks

General Position Summary:
Assist other maintenance personnel in preventative maintenance, repair and servicing equipment assignments. Retrieve and deliver tools, parts and supplies as directed. Order parts and supplies when needed. Perform repetitive small hand tool inspections and repairs. Clean and maintain assigned work areas and parking lots. Using back pack blower, weed eater, hedge trimmers and powered industrial sweeper.
Primary Responsibilities and Training Needs:
Assist other maintenance personnel in preventative maintenance, repair and servicing equipment assignments
Cleaning of assigned work areas
Must receive the following training prior to 90 days of employment:
Confined space entrant,
Lock out Tag out (Authorized) Training,
Fall protection training,
Scissor Lift and Ariel Man lift operator training, as well as powered sweeper
Run sweeper and backpack blower to sweep all roadways plant wide (Facilities)
Repair and change tires on carts, wheelbarrows and bicycles
Specific Job Skills:
Able to work in a safe and professional manner
Poses moderate level of mechanical aptitude
Able to work in adverse weather conditions, confined spaces, dusty dirty and Noisy environments
Able to lift 60 lbs. occasionally and 50 lbs frequently

Assist in keeping truck clean and in performing preventive maintenance on assigned vehicles
Communicate effectively with Principals, Department Heads, District staff and all other District personnel, contractors and vendors in a professional manner in all phases necessary to locate, correct, repair and complete each job or project
Must maintain grooming standard and dress code of the Dallas ISD and Audliary Services
Performs all other related duties as assigned
