Registered Nurse (Rn) Coordinator Bone Marrow Transplant Full-Time Mixed (Rotating Weekends)

St. David's South Austin Medical Center is an acute care facility with 316 beds, offering a range of complex specialties and sub-specialties, including a nationally accredited oncology program with the area's only adult bone marrow transplant program; a trauma program that includes all of the capabilities and programmatic elements of a Level II trauma center to treat the most severely injured and critical patients; a comprehensive cardiac program; full-service maternity and newborn care with Level I and II nurseries; and two full-service emergency centers in the communities of Bee Cave and Bastrop.
The BMT Coordinator is responsible for assessment of needs, education, and coordination of the care of BMT and certain Blood Cancer patients and their families require throughout the disease process. The coordinator will communicate all aspects of the plan of care with patients, families, and other members of the Transplant Team, other health care providers, and payors.
Monitors patient/family before, during and after transplantation for physical, emotional, psychosocial, and financial needs and intervenes when appropriate. Refers patients to members of the BMT team (chaplain, counselor, nutritionist, oncology support team, and financial advisors) as needed, and/or utilizes community resources when appropriate.
Coordinates the patient and donor pre-admission work-up and visits. Gathers and reviews all pertinent clinical information (including past treatments and outcomes) and presents this to the transplant physician with special notes to abnormal results.
Collaborates with direct health care providers to establish plan of care, facilitates continuity of care across departments (both in-patient and out-patient) within hospital and home health providers. Coordinates all services for BMT and targeted Blood Cancer patients, and oversees National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) processes as needed.
Coordinates the transfer of patient care from Blood and Marrow Transplant Program back to referring physician and is responsible for long-term follow-up, which includes but is not limited to: periodic updates on patient condition, coordinating follow-up visits with Blood and Marrow Transplant physician and referring physician, and coordinating provision of post-discharge necessary services.
Educates patients, their families, and donors to assist understanding of the disease, and processes and procedures surrounding pre- and post-transplant issues. Acts as a resource for members of the interdisciplinary team on transplant care and protocols to promote positive outcomes for BMT patients.
Communicates with interdisciplinary team members, patients and families, and payors in a timely manner to ensure comprehensive documentation.
Performs admissions and continued stay reviews as needed.
Acts as an advocate for patient's benefits. Manages outpatient drug benefits. Investigates formulary and obtains overrides if needed. Identifies need for indigent drug program and coordinates the application process.
Keeps current on requirements mandated by Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), NMDP, and other regulatory bodies, monitors compliance.
Required: BSN graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Required: Registered Nurse licensed by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
Required: Three years of experience as a Registered Nurse in transplant services

Description: Under indirect supervision, operates dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) and/or other densitometry equipment in order to perform scans of the lumbar spine, proximal femur, and/or forearm that measure the calcium content of bones and are utilized by physicians to screen for, diagnose, manage, and treat osteoporosis and other metabolic diseases. Exercises technical judgment in order to obtain a computerized image of the tested area, bone density measurements, and a computer-generated comparison of the patient's measurements with normal age-specific measurements.

Main Purpose of Job
To supervise inmate work crews in the preparation and serving of meals in a correctional facility.

Learns to ensure that inmate workers adhere to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point Regulations in food sanitation and food safety in an institutional setting;
Learns to train and supervise assigned inmates preparing vegetables, meats, salads, beverages and other foods;
Learns to operate kitchen equipment and appliances such as mixers, cookers, ovens, stoves, toasters and coffee urns;

Cooking Coach Specialists will be in charge of cooking demonstrations at the Cooking Connection. The Cooking Coach Specialist will report to the Cooking Connection Manager. Summary/Responsibilities of this position:
A Sales Rep will be responsible for stocking and selling products to new and existing retail customers. Order assigned products to maximize sales. Merchandises, fronts, and sells products by performing the following duties. Work under immediate supervision and from detailed verbal and written instructions. Apply and develop basic skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment appropriate to area of specialization.
Requires some specific product knowledge depending on the Department.
Provide good customer service
Organize, clean, and prepare back area for incoming deliveries
Keep sales floor uncluttered and free from spills
Stock and rotate items as needed
Reset products and maintains shelf conditions ensuring integrity of shelf tags and signage in department
Check shipments for out-of-date and damaged product to ensure freshness and quality of products
Ensure that all federal, state, and company regulations and standards for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation are met
Maintain standards in shrink, safety, and inventory control
Assist in merchandising the department to maximize sales
Use suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION PREFERRED
Typically requires 0-2 years experience
Knowledge of department product, food preparation, and equipment used preferred.
Extensive knowledge of specialty food products and food preparation essential.
Strong customer service skills
Passion for food
Materials handling equipment certification
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work in fast paced environment
Ability to work in extreme temperatures
PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
