The Gel Bone Operator is an important role in the daily operations of our facilities. A variety of duties and responsibilities exist within this title. The types of responsibilities available are including but not limited to, performing various rendering processes, operating heavy equipment, charting and reporting progress and yields, and in many cases the use of tracking via computer, all while making safety and food safety the number one priorities.
While performing the duties of a Gel Bone Operator, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions with slippery surfaces at varied heights; moving mechanical parts; fast paced warm/cool environment. Positions require standing or walking the entire shift, the use of stairs, and the use of PPE which is required in all areas of the facility.

ARODO Mechanic Operator
Safely and efficiently maintain and operate the Arodo packaging line and palletizer.
Maintain the equipment for the Arodo line - all production and maintenance activities. perform mechanical repairs and PM's. Operate various processing equipment.
Read and follow daily production schedule and instructions. Prepare packaging materials by retrieving items from storage, applying labels to container, setting up and loading filling machines, operating various automatic and manual packaging machines, scales and printing devices, industrial lift trucks, pallet jacks and other material handling tools and equipment. Maintain correct weight of the bags produced. Maintain the quality of the bags produced.
Maintain accurate written and electronic records as required by specific tasks. Complete all paperwork - downtime log, used parts, all required QC tests, Shift to shift log book, etc.

Chemical Process Operator II
Bio-Rad is looking for a Chemical Process Operator II
The Chemical Process Operator will report to the Production Manager.
This operator will practice Good Manufacturing Practice and have a mindset of following safety guidelines.
This position will serve to support our customers by providing the following expertise:
Ability to perform accurate calculation in order to correctly formulate polymerization reactions at the scale of 30L to 4000L based on standardized production procedures.
Operate and monitor process parameters for polymerization reactors, including temperature, pressure, pH and agitation speed in order to produce media of correct particle size, porosity and shape.
Work with Management, R&D scientists and production teams when it's necessary to troubleshoot production issues, provide custom materials for customer evaluation and/or identify process improvement opportunities within the plant to improve efficiencies and/or processes.
Candidates should possess a two year AAS Degree in Process Technology (or equivalent) and a minimum of 3 years as a Chemical Process Operator in a relevant field.
More than 5 years of experience as a Chemical Process Operator in a relevant field will be considered in lieu of the two year AAS Degree in Process Technology.
The ability to be cross-trained to perform other jobs as needed.
Ability to read instructions and interpret production formulas, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Complete production tasks, including workstation setup, calculation of raw material requirements, product formulation including pumping, mixing or blending of dry/liquid chemicals, monitoring of polymerization equipment, media sizing, etc., on time and according to the defined schedule.
The ability to learn procedures related to safe handling of materials and maintaining an overall priority on safety within the production facility.
Ability to work with chemicals, including organic and inorganic solvents, acids and bases and be qualified to wear a respirator or other PPE as required.
Ability to lift up to 35lb and stand/work on feet for an extended period.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel.
Excellent communication, including verbal and written skills
Ability to operate a forklift (training can be provided).
A working knowledge of SAP is preferred but not required.

Some knowledge of cGMP's, basic chemistry and experience or training in an FDA regulated environment is desirable but not required
Limited travel to Cambridge initially for training.

Summary: Process operator will primarily be responsible for overseeing a process that uses technology to either extrude or encapsulate a liquid compound or color an alcoholic solution. Operator will also be responsible for working closely with other internal support functions throughout the plant.
