PURPOSE: The purpose of an Industrial Maintenance Journeyman or Apprentice is to inspect, repair, and support operation of production equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Inspect and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, electrical and mechanical systems. 2. Perform preventive maintenance procedures as specified in the QSI system. 3. Complete work assigned by Group Leader or Asst. Group Leader. 4. Communicate activities with Group Leader and other members of department. 5. Maintain neat and orderly appearance of shop and production machines. 6. Obtain parts in emergency cases. 7. Assist in other departments as requested by Group Leader or Asst. Group Leader. 8. Vegetation Apprentice Trimmer to join our team.
General Duties and Responsibilities
The Groundperson uses a chainsaw to cut brush, logs and stumps of larger trees.
Responsible for temporary traffic control and equipment (cones, signs and flagging)
Must ensure the safety of himself and others by following all company safety policies
Must adhere to Region Policy Manual
Must be able to work all scheduled work hours
Gather and drag brush and feed brush into wood chipper.
Apply herbicide to right-of-way, following brush removal utilized hose and spray nozzle from spray equipment which includes tank, pump, hose reel, 200 feet of ½ inch hose, or utilizing back-pack to treat remote areas.
Services truck, chipper, and equipment, maintaining them in neat, clean, and specified mechanical order.
Responsible for daily inventory on truck
Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.
Must obtain current Medical DOT card before Orientation
