Industrial manufacturer is looking for a reliable, logical and motivated self-starter to join the firm. We are seeking mechanics with experience tearing down and rebuilding gear boxes, machines such as manual lathes, boring lathes, milling machines, drill presses, keyseater and broaching machines. Person needs good hands and be able to assist with shipping duties such as preparing skids and boxes.
Basic Job Description / Duties:
Responsible for tearing down, cleaning, inspecting and assessment of gear boxes from small (fits in your hand) to large (several tons).
Experience with disassembly of parts from their shafts (press fit, slip fit – heating to remove)
Will use micrometers, tapes, calipers and other inspection devices to ensure quality.
Will be required to operate overhead crane for moving work pieces on and off machines and throughout the workflow process.
Responsible for grinding and polishing work to meet customer and company finish requirements.
May be required to track jobs via company job process tracking software.
Flexibility and desire to work on other projects and tasks as required and assigned.
Maintain machines and work in a clean and safe manner.
Must be reliable and able to work scheduled hours and comply with the company’s time keeping policies and all other company policies.
5 to 10 years of relevant work experience as a machinist.
Must be proficient in reading and understanding blueprints.
Knowledgeable in tolerances required and acceptable on shafts, back lash, bearings.
Must be proficient in basic shop math.
Must be able to lift/carry/push/pull/ position parts and components.
Must be able to climb onto work surfaces.

Summary The position is responsible for set up, operation and maintenance of various lining machines to ensure the continual and efficient running of production. The Lining Technician will troubleshoot quality and product issues, perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance, take measurements and record integrity of products produced, and perform daily safety and quality checks.
The Lining Technician also monitors box fill and label application and reports or addresses problems immediately. # Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.1. Resets vision systems at start of shift. 2. Verifies all material for each line matches Production Schedule. 3. Uses a variety of tools and techniques to take measurements on sample closures and record data into computer system. 4. Performs visual quality checks on closures throughout the shift. 5. Performs ring liner vacuum checks, vision checks, and checks mold cycle times to ensure quality product. 6. Monitors control panels and listens to equipment operations to detect jams or malfunctions. Adjusts machine settings when necessary. 7. Makes mechanical adjustments and repairs to equipment. 8. Cleans compound filters. 9. Empties vision barrels. 10. Fills compound barrels. 11. Collects scrap caps and prepares for Re-grind. 12. Uses air tools and alcohol to clean lines. 13. Reports daily performance/issues in log books and communicate with oncoming technician any changes, problems or issues with the line(s). 14. Cleans at least one punch and one cutter per day per line. 15. Cleans, sweeps, and mops work area as needed. 16. Follows all safety procedures and completes daily safety check list. 17. This position will retrieve, inspect, stack and load specified paperboard into offset printing machinery, monitor and adjust feeder unit attachments, and assist co-workers in performing the manual tasks on and around machinery in the Printing Department. Ability to use Hand trucks, tape measures, skid aerator/turning machinery, hand tools.
The ideal candidate will have experience in an offset printing process, converting process, or graphic arts technical school. Otherwise, six-month previous experience working on or around moving machinery is required. Willing to train attentive, strong willingness to learn candidates.
This position is responsible for ensuring that the correct paperboard type, in the specified quantity, is cleaned, correctly oriented and fed through the printing process in a manner that maximizes machine capacity. Removing damaged sheets from pallets of paperboard before feeding them through the printing press. Determining if the proper amount of sheets have been supplied, documenting the amount supplied and initiating actions to obtain more paperboard of the specified type when the supplied amount does not agree with the required amount.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, Accurate color discrimination, The ability to read and write English, The ability to perform simple arithmetic computations, (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication & Division), including comfort working with fraction and decimals, is required.
