Plan and construct a wide variety of tools, dies, fixtures and gauges to very close tolerances, or construct more complex units where design is available.
Perform development work, layout and difficult tool room machine operations, fitting, timing and adjusting, e.g. combination dies for parts or irregular contour, box type drill jigs with difficult locating or nesting features, ordinary index milling fixtures.
Dismantles and repairs or replaces parts of damaged dies and fixtures, fits and assembles parts, and tests repaired dies for proper operation.

This position is responsible for managing the output of consumable packaging needed in the Molding production area by making boxes to specification as well as completing sorting activity at press.
Specific duties include:
Run box making machine
Add bags and foam to boxes as needed
Communicate any machine problems to supervisor
Monitor boxes for defects from vendor
Restock molding racks with materials (bags, tape, etc.)
Empty all trash in molding area
Layer and/or separate cavity numbers at a running molding machine per instruction
Keep up with standard cycle times when layer packing and/or separating cavities
Qualified candidates for this position must:
Be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
Be able to stand and move around for the majority of your shift

Model Maker II
Designs, develops, machines and fabricates new medical devices, mechanisms and tooling in support of new product development and continuous improvement activities. Works with Physicians, Design Engineers/Teams, and independently to rapidly produce concept and functional prototypes and mechanisms.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Uses basic and advanced machine shop practices in conjunction with established engineering and machining practices to complete the required tasks.

Under limited supervision and working in a loud manufacturing environment with a variety of epoxy agents, this position lays out, fabricates and assembles complex metalworking dies, molds, composite, and machine tool fixtures by analyzing blueprints, sketches, engineering designs/drawings, models, tool orders, manufacturing service requests, engineering or shop specifications, and verbal descriptions.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs complex precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions; may recommend revisions in design and/or substitutions in material based on machinability or fabrication problems encountered.
Solves problems relating to unusual materials, work-holding arrangements, machine settings, fabrication methods, and production process.
May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures and may provide direction and guidance to less experienced staff.
Fabricate and assemble composite parts and tools using epoxy resins, pre-preg material, graphite, fiberglass, structural adhesives, tooling foams, tooling boards (solid and honeycomb) and other various materials.
Assist in the development of prototype molds and jigs.
Fabricate composite and metal trim & drill fixtures per blueprints and assemble composite and metal assembly fixtures for controlling location and configuration of composite structures.
Sets up and operates micrometers, height gages, calipers, jig transit and precision level to determine location of holes, trim, lines, center lines, alignment of master models and assembly fixtures.
