Operator III - Braid (2Nd Shift)
Eaton's Industrial Division is currently seeking an Operator III – Braid on 2nd Shift. This position is based at our Middlesex, NC facility.
This position is responsible for setting up and operating winders to produce a spiral wrap over Teflon® tubing. Set up and operate braiders for PTFE and larger diameter hose. Complex set-up with precise and tighter tolerances. Prep and clean mandrels, operate Pole-Up & Strip-Out and operate overhead crane. Advanced level of machine operator requiring the ability to follow written instructions and read blueprint specifications. Under limited supervision, sets up and operates alternately more than one type of production machine on a limited range of production work, involving difficult operations, close tolerances and difficult set-ups. Performs difficult operations or sets up pursuant to speeds, pressures, feeds and operation sequence prescribed in drawings or lay-outs.

You will be required to cross train in other cells.
Braiding: Strip and set-up braider as required including insert proper tooling and insert wound bobbins to braider
Winding: Strip and set-up winders.
Proof test: Places coil of hose in tester, hook up to clamps and pressure test with water to proper specifications.
Finishing: Inspect hose to make sure that specifications are met. Coils and tag the hose to prepare it for shipping. May place in crate or box based on customer specifications.
Mandrel Load/Unload: Load and strip PTFE tubing from steel mandrels before/after braiding. Utilize overhead crane to move mandrels to/from braiders.
Crane Operation: Operators must safely operate the crane to transport poles and product through the department.
You will perform duties relative to production in the assigned area and is able to operate all equipment and machinery in the assigned area.
You will produce a quality product, safely, on-time, and with the least cost possible.
You will review work orders, specifications or instructions to determine material, ingredients, procedures, components and settings. Accurately record data on process travelers.
You will accurately complete computer transactions as necessary (labor & scrap transactions, inventory disbursements & cycle counts, expense items, etc.).
You will participate in cell/team activities including, but not limited to, team meetings, problem-solving, Kaizen events, etc.
You will maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment through effective housekeeping, 5S and TPM practices
You will follow all plant, safety, and environmental rules and regulations. Support plant lean, safety, quality and continuous improvement efforts.

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
Manages the pattern creation process for innovative and complex footwear in collaboration with Creation Center teams (Design, Marketing, Brand Operations), Sourcing and T1. Trains and consults product development teams and T1 on pattern creation process.
Manages the development of basic and model patterns, and the pattern creation of fully graded technically innovative basic and fit critical model patterns in cooperation with X-functional partners based on market requirements; maintains the information in the product creation system and ensures that new patterns are wear tested as needed
Under the guidance of a Team Leader leads x-functional pattern and fit presentations

Description:Sets up, operates and adjusts a variety of photolithographic production equipment used to perform required operations and tests on production parts with optical patterns. Additionally sets up and operates manual, and computer controlled equipment, such as coat, deposition, cleaning, and similar photolithographic equipment used in optical applications.
Works under general direction and from production schedules, manufacturing procedures, process, and written or oral instruction. Use knowledge of photolithographic process to perform production of optical patterned parts.
Operates and carefully adjusts parts and materials into fixture with proper alignment for operations.
Use manual and computer controlled equipment to apply pattern and deposition masks on optical parts to ensure proper placement of materials.
Works in cleanroom with delicate optical components which are highly sensitive, precise and require special handling.
Performs metal lift off and etch processes to create micron sized features.
Uses gages, microscope, electronic instruments and small tools to check dimensions, handle materials and prepare parts for subsequent operations.
