SUMMARY To be trained or help on one or more of the following machines or work centers such as cutoff saws, CNC and standard shears and brakes, rollers, presses, forming machines, CNC and standard whitney punching machines, and CNC plasma & punch machines, belt, bench and hand held grinders that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operates machines or works in work centers with supervision.
At all times safety is a top priority while performing any part of your job.
Follow Supervisors instructions.
Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
Frequently going to different work centers to help where needed to assist in a one or two man operation.
Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
Measures workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpiece.
Stacks, marks, packs, and transports finished workpieces.
When working jobs follow the due date provided in the job router unless otherwise instructed by your Supervisor.
Contact Supervisor or Fab Lead if there is any problems with job or equipment.
Properly use barcode system to reflect time charged to jobs.
Stay in work area and work well with others.

Press Brake Operator
Under general supervision, sets up and operates Brake Press, Shear and Punch machines, and other machine tools as directed in the support of Elliott Equipment Company.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Tends metal fabricating machines, such as brake press, horizontal/vertical saw, shear, plasma cutting table, iron worker, that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures
Reads workcenter dispatch to determine job specifications, job completion dates, to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
Pulls program from list of pre-defined programs
Enter parameters in brake press to adjust bend angles and dimensions. Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template if no program exists.
Positions work piece against stops, manually or using hoist, or aligns layout marks with square
Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine
Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction
Measures work piece dimensions, using rule, template, or other measuring instruments to determine accuracy of machine operation
Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work piece, using belt sander, file, hand grinder, or wire brush
Performs minor machine maintenance, such as oiling changes, Preventative Maintenance on machines, dies, or other area equipment.
Sweeps and wipes down equipment, dies and tools to keep clean.
Reads and interprets drawings, sketches and diagrams.
Works on special projects as required.
Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
Continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Brake System Engineer
Responsible for design and development of Brake and Electronic Accelerator pedal systems, coordination of program timing/design guidelines with supplier and packaging of pedal designs in vehicle environment.
Also, communicating technical requirements to internal areas such as power-train, electrical and vehicle development groups.
Should be able to root cause quality, build issues, and implement corrective actions.
Knowledge of vehicle level brake system design and validation experience.
Knowledge of brake system and performance and sizing modeling/analysis.
DFMEA/SFMEA and DVP-R experience such as: write/review/execute a system level DVP for a brake system. Proven problem solving skillset (ie: Shainin, DFSS, etc).
Experience with Technical report writing.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree is required from an ABET accredited university or equivalency in accredited institution.
1 year or more of engineering experience in brakes, chassis or related commodity. Entry-level candidates will be considered with co-op or internship experience.

5 years of experience preferred.
Auto enthusiast desired.
Will be required to drive a company car.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
Vehicle level testing will be required on a regular basis.
0-20% travel required (combined) domestic and international.

What You'll Do
Reads blueprints to understand required specifications.

Lead the global development for DTNA anti-lock braking systems for air brake and electronic brake controls on electric vehicles. Function as the expert on EBS at DTNA with brake blending, integrating advanced e-motor regenerative braking with foundation brakes.
Develop detailed requirements for features, systems, and components in electric truck braking systems. Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Warranty, IT, Purchasing, and other departments to collect and execute design and project requirements.
