Generac Power Systems – Work with the leader in the power industry! Our office in Oshkosh, WI is seeking a Press Brake Operator - 1st Shift.
The Machine Operator – Fabrication II is expected to perform under the direction of the area supervisor, manufacture parts per plant specification in an accurate and timely manner utilizing a Press Brake while recognizing safety and efficiencies. This position reports directly to Production Manager or Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Regular and prompt attendance and the ability to work schedule as define and overtime as required.
Set up, adjust and operate a press brake
Read and interpret blueprint specifications to determine procedures, verify programs and tooling
Perform complex machine set ups and critical operations
Position and replace tools, and set in relation to machine
Use a variety of precision measuring devices to set up and adjust work and verify conformance of work to specifications
Understand special material handling required for materials and equipment used in the work cell
Assist in other work areas as needed
Repair/correction of errors
Participation in training sessions
Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills.
High School diploma or equivalent
An understanding of machining/fabricating fundamentals
Experience working with fabrication machines, specifically press brakes.
Ability to effectively communicate
Contributes to identifying problems and implementing appropriate countermeasures.
Intermediate PC knowledge.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Strong problem solving and reasoning skills
Ability to perform reading, writing, and math functions.
Preferred experience on equipment and automation consistent with a metal fabrication, paint, and assembly operation.
Intermediate mechanical aptitude, ability to understand complex issues and systematically work toward resolution.
Ability to interpret drawings, schematics and machine specifications.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; stoop; crouch; bend and reach above shoulders. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, waist high, up to 10 feet away. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Temperatures can vary from cool to warm depending upon the season. Press Brake Operator
As a CNC Press Brake Machine Operator, you will work either individually, or, as part of a small team, to produce Sheet Metal parts. You will be required to produce a variety of parts, all of which must meet the dimensional specifications of the mechanical engineered drawing. Employees within this classification will work primarily with CNC Press Brake, or CNC Turret Punch Press/Laser Cutting equipment.
Other responsibilities of this position include performing preventative maintenance on your assigned equipment. Also, you must maintain the cleanliness of your work area and meet all requirements of the Powell Quality System for this position. Finally, all employees are required to participate in Powell's ongoing Safety Training.
You must be an organized, self-starter, with the ability to work unsupervised while meeting all product quality requirements. Technical skill and qualifications for this position are as follows:
Able to read a Tape Measure and Ruler (ability to convert fractions to decimals and conversely decimals to fractions).
Able to read Mechanical Engineered Drawings (blueprints)/knowledge of engineered specified tolerances
Able to effectively change machinery for multiple set-ups given various product lines and material requirements
Able to use precision hand tools such as square, protractor and caliper.
At least 2 years of experience operating and programming the above mentioned equipment.
Able to lift at least 40lbs. frequently.
Able to utilize a PC to process shop floor orders using the Powell Oracle MES software, and Microsoft Office Applications

Position Purpose: Set up and operate all sizes of press brakes to perform a wide variety of forming, notching, bending and punching operations on a diversified line of work.
1.Set up dies and gauges, adjust ram stroke to form materials to proper angle to capacity of machine at the Covrad GT Iron Ridge facility
2.Determine sequence of multiple pass operations to make required bends on complicated sections
3.Make set-ups for forming special shapes having single or compound radii and angle requirements.
4.Set up fixed and adjustable punching dies and gauges for multiple and series punching.
5.Work from drawings, pattern, templates and specifications
6.Use scale, protractor, dividers, radii gauges, etc
7.Proceed with minimum supervision and instruction.
