Ensure the customer and contractor personnel performing on classified efforts (at the Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and collateral levels) are provided with approved classification guidance, release procedures and marking criteria.

Heat Treating and Brazing Furnace Operator for our Canoga Park, CA facility to work either the 1st or 2nd shift. This is a Union position.
Set up and operation of Heat treating and controlled atmospheric brazing furnaces to braze rocket engine thrust chambers and other assemblies where vacuum, explosive and/or inert gas atmospheres are used in production. Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each) 100%- Plan brazing and/or heat treat operations of developmental, prototype and production assemblies in controlled atmospheric brazing furnaces where explosive and inert gasses are used in the atmospheres. Set power and temperature controls, gas flow panels and instrumentation for electric or gas fired furnaces. Adjust switches on temperature control instruments for multiple cycle brazing.
Load assemblies on furnace base and make hookups of thermocouples and pressure lines as required.
Operate auxiliary power equipment to unload furnaces and cool down with cooling muffles. Perform heat treating and/or brazing operation as required.
Operate furnace to heat treat and/or braze assemblies including leak check and purge, instrumentation, heat-up, braze and cool down. Take action when emergency conditions arise during phases of operations to assure safety of personnel and equipment. Over-ride furnace controls by manual operation when necessary.
Requirements High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience in heat treating and brazing operations.
Demonstrated experience working with and around hazardous chemicals including acids.
Must have a proven safety record and experience with PPE used with hazardous chemicals.
Experience handling large (500 lbs +) complex hardware with tooling and other handling devices (ie: pallet jacks, cranes, lifting straps, etc).
Experience reading, comprehending and using planning and drawings to meet required specification requirements.
Experience using measurement instruments to ensure parts are set-up and indicated properly to meet requirements.
Must carry or obtain applicable certifications to work in an environmentally controlled room.

Set up, adjust, and operate power tube bending machines to form tubing used to fabricate plumbing components used in aircraft fuel, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Prepare to set-up job or run previously set-up job by reviewing work order, tie-in sheets, operator's or setup documents, blueprints, or CATIA plots. Identify type of set-up required.
Select and install machine accessories and holding devises (e.g., collet, radius block, pressure die, clamp die, mandrel, mandrel rod, and wiper die, if needed).
Verify that apparatus is in good condition.
Adjust bending machine by setting centerline, adjusting collet, mandrel rod length, pressure die, wiper die if used, and machine pressure.
Check machine set-up and/or parts completed by previous operator to determine progress on a job and ensure safe working conditions, as required.
Perform test bend to verify that bends are within tolerance for ovality, angle, and are free from tool marks.
Perform 20 degree and 120 degree bends and measure angles of those bends using protractor to check for spring back.
Enter measured angles into control panel of bending machine if different than required angle to reset proportional and constant spring back and achieve drawing bend angle. Check tubes using five axis digitizer (Super Gauge) and enter data into tube bending machine to make any needed corrections of bend angles.
Set up checking fixtures on mylar pattern to index points and check tubes for correct bends and mark tube ends to be trimmed to correct length.
Handle and dispose of hazardous materials (e.g., coolants, solvents, shop towels) in approved manner (per Material Safety Data Sheets and Boeing requirements) using personal protective equipment as required.
Check work after completion of each operation in job and/or completed job to ensure parts are complete per drawing and that there are no defects.

Brazer I typically weld similar materials together (mainly copper) using a filler material. PRINCIPAL DUTIES:1.

Performs standard soft copper brazing in coils, headers, and partial valve pack materials following detailed work instructions, processes and procedures (written and verbal) to meet and exceed customer expectations. Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, engineering drawings, and shop orders to weld coil units.
Operates within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs). 2. Safety Awareness Take responsibility for their own safety as well as the safety of others. Understand the proper processes/equipment in the department.

Job Summary The National Wind Technology Center is seeking a post doc to contribute to the wind resource characterization research program focused on development and application of new resource methodologies and technologies for use by the wind industry. The program includes examination of atmospheric processes over a range of scales from mesoscale to microscale that influence wind energy systems using both computational modeling and field deployed observational systems. The successful candidate will primarily focus on wind, and will collaborate with other NREL staff to carry out research in the following areas:
Development, deployment, and validation of atmospheric observation systems including new remote sensing technologies
Research of the next generation models that bridge the mesoscale and microscale for estimation of short and long-term energy production. This post doc is expected to demonstrate a broad understanding and wide application of atmospheric principles, theories, and concepts, in particular in the area of remote sensing and measurements.
A general knowledge of wind energy related disciplines and applications is an advantage. The successful candidate will have excellent writing, interpersonal and communication skills. Torch and Induction Brazer / Welder
We are seeking an EXPERIENCED Torch and Induction Brazer.
Successful applicants will meet the following qualifications:
- 5 years’ aerospace experience
- Proficient with torch and induction brazing of stainless steel, brass, copper and low alloy steels
- Ability to certify to AWS C3.4 and AWS C3.5
- Experience with Ambrell Ekoheat induction machine a plus but not required
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and does so with minimal supervision
- Must be able to pass mandatory drug screening
