Essential Job Functions:
Brazes (bonds) together components to assemble metal parts as specified by layout, work order, or blueprints, using hand torch,
Places and brazes parts into compressors within units.
Guides torch and rod along joint of work pieces to heat to brazing temperature, melt braze alloy, and bond work pieces together.
Cuts carbon electrodes to specified size and shape, using cutoff saw.
Removes work piece from fixture, using tongs, and cools work piece, using air or water.
Cleans joints of work pieces, using wire brush or by dipping them into cleaning solution.
Examines seams and rebrazes defective joints or broken parts.
Connects hoses from torch to regulator valves and cylinders of oxygen and specified fuel gas, acetylene or natural.
Turns valves to start flow of gases, lights flame, and adjusts valves to obtain desired color and size of flame.
Brushes flux onto joint of work piece or dips braze rod into flux to prevent oxidation of metal.
Aligns and secures work pieces in fixtures, jigs, or vise, using rule, square, or template.
Melts and separates brazed joints to remove and straighten damaged or misaligned components, using hand torch or furnace.
Selects torch tip, flux, and brazing alloy from data charts or work order.
Adjusts electric current and timing cycle of resistance welding machine to heat metal to bonding temperature.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of some secondary/trade school technical and/or general business course is preferred.
Basic understanding of refrigeration flow system.
Experience with installation of HVAC equipment such as Chillers, Heat exchangers, Boilers, Cooling towers, pumps.
Must be able to work with carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC, poly/HDPE, copper, and various high pressure/temperature alloys.
Must be proficient in the use of bevelers, threaders and other end prep machines.
Furnace Feed Loader Operator
Operate mobile equipment to mix and transport material used in or a product from the furnace operations. Major job duties includes:
1.Operates mobile equipment to feed the furnace, move furance feed or furnace product.
2.Identify material correctly for furnace feed, storage location and furnace by-product.
3.Operate feed belt and swing spout to properly feed the furnace.
4.Maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas. Operate bobcat and other equipment to clean up work areas and transport material. Clean up crane aisle, pick up kettles, and clean belt lines.
5.Assist furance operators as needed including communicating operational, safety, environmental and health concerns.
Must be able to become certified to safely operate mobile equipment. Preference is experienced operating loader and other mobile equipment.
Must be able to properly identify materials and storage locations.
Frequently required to walk and perform repetitive movements; occasionally requires sitting, feeling attributes of objects, grasping, pushing, and driving. Requires clarity of vision, three-dimensional vision, the ability to judge distance and spatial relationships, precise hand-eye coordination, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.

Performs routine procedures following written work instructions to complete manufacturing processes. Measures and verifies that component materials are available per specification. Assembles component according to work station instructions and drawings as required. Installs and brazes Hanson fittings and releases nitrogen from system and connects to vacuum pump for evacuation. Checks brazed assemblies using vacuum pumps, helium and leak check machine. Mounts compressor, condenser, and other components in specified locations on frames, using hand and power tools Applies solder along adjoining edges of work pieces to solder joints, using soldering irons, gas torches, or electric-ultrasonic equipment. Selects torch tips, flux, and brazing alloys from work station instructions and/or Sequence of Events (SOE) or work orders.
Applies knowledge of metallurgy to determine best method to accomplish quality braze (brass, copper, steel) and performs all job duties within ISO standards using required safety procedures and equipment in accordance with control procedures replacing components as instructed; reworks units rejected by quality control.
Completes appropriate internal control documents including Final Inspection Sheets, Total Quality Control sheets. Enters product related information into computer system to track bar codes, locations or production rates.
Reorders raw materials and finished parts using the Kanban inventory system and maintains Supermarket racks and inventory accuracy using the correct part numbers and bin locations. Reports any shortages to cell leader or supervision.
Performs other duties, provides support and coverage on all operations on line as requested by supervisor. Cross training and flexibility required.

This position is responsible for welding / brazing material for various metals in accordance with defined specifications and drawings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Brazes crushed carbide to downhole drills, multi-mills, watermelons, and stabilizers.
Performs process to remove crushed carbide from used tools and redresses tools as needed.
Performs welding and fabrication, assists shop mechanic when needed, and performs general workshop maintenance.
Miscellaneous job duties determined by the workshop manager.
Keeps count of full and empty oxygen tanks, acetylene, welding leads.

This position primarily works in Lafayette, LA. However, the job may require travel overseas, and the employee must be able to obtain both a US Passport and a credit card to pay for expenses. Operate and maintain TIMET's high productivity vacuum induction furnaces located in Vallejo, CA. Interpret and respond to the needs of the equipment. Perform skilled maintenance, set-up and troubleshooting functions as required.
Perform preoperative checks prior to and during pump down cycle.
Set up and operate the furnace as directed for melting to include:
Clean out furnaces during maintenance cycles and replaces damaged components.
Use various hand and power tools as directed.
Perform maintenance required to ensure good operating condition of furnace and auxiliary equipment such as vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic and cooling systems.
Correctly uses material handling equipment such as forklifts and hoists.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare parts for loading into furnace, including wiping and final cleaning as necessary.
Evaluate load configuration, load on racks or grids for economical batch size and furnace hot zone limits.
Manufacturing load thermocouples.
Ensure proper heat treat cycle is used following manufacturing traveler requirements for heat, vacuum levels, time and cooling rate.

Start up and shut down equipment especially to meet quality standards.
Operate production processing and material handling systems, some by computer control.
