- 5 years’ aerospace experience
- Proficient with torch and induction brazing of stainless steel, brass, copper and low alloy steels
- Ability to certify to AWS C3.4 and AWS C3.5
- Experience with Ambrell Ekoheat induction machine a plus but not required
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and does so with minimal supervision

Job Summary Statement
The brazer operates a hand-held torch to attach components to hydraulic tubes.
- Follow company policies, ISO9001 procedures and work instructions, and safety rules.
- Prepare all materials/components to be used in the process; this process is similar to soldering but at a higher temp.
- Perform the braze process on product joining two pieces of metal to form one strong joint.
- Be responsible for performing quality checks on product being processed and stop production when the part is out of specification.
- Document all necessary information.
- Maintain a clean working environment.
- Practice safe working habits at all times and wear any necessary personal protective equipment.
- Be cross-trained for other processes/machines/positions to be enabled to float to different areas to fill in for vacations, absences, etc.

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: Brazer I under frequent supervisor and direction from area supervisor must be able to perform a combination of welding and testing tasks to ensure conformance to specifications and continuous production consistent with established standards. Performs standard soft copper brazing in coils, headers, and partial valve pack materials following detailed work instructions, processes and procedures (written and verbal) to meet and exceed customer expectations. Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, engineering drawings, and shop orders to weld coil units.
Operates within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs). 2. Safety Awareness Take responsibility for their own safety as well as the safety of others. Understand the proper processes/equipment in the department.
Knowledge of JSA’s, PPE usage, 5S, and all safety regulations in the facility. Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions and complies with all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures. 3. Quality - Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisors.
Performs first article inspection for conformance to specifications both blue print and work order. 4. Teamwork – Builds teamwork by working with other departments, shifts, and management to meet and exceed customer expectations. Duties and Responsibilities
Continuously completes successful braze and debraze procedures in manufacturing cell.
Assembles using resistance tack welders.
Able to conform to ASME Section 9, Chapter B 3.3.
Melt and apply solder along adjoining edges of work pieces using gas torches or electric ultrasonic equipment
Be willing and able to learn, teach and interact with all functions necessary to support fabrication team, unit and company objectives
Participate actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs
Comply with all applicable safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or potential safety hazards to team leader or appropriate resource
Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area
Notify team leader or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning equipment, operations, materials, inventory
