DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for continued maintenance of all breaking equipment for production.
Responsible for Good Preventive Maintenance for total operation and work closely with all maintenance and sanitation department to eliminate needless down time of equipment.
Handle all maintenance emergencies that arise, making sure that both quality and production are considered.
Responsible for checking for high CAT.3 counts on Opti-breaker and making any necessary repairs or replacements including replacing cracker or counter on those showing high counts.
Responsible for checking no-breaks machine 3 times a day and relay any out of specification mumbers to maintenance and doing follow-up check after being fixed
Follow all SOP's (Standard Operation Procedures) set for Breaking Room repair.
Follow all SOP's (Standard Operation Procedures) for maintaining proper air and temperatures to breaking rooms.
Must complete all required check lists (no breaks, door security, eye wash, emergency lights, dock locks, etc.)
Able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed or scheduled.
Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
Travel to and work at multiple locations
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures. (LOTO, PPE, Confine Space, Forklift, SCBA, etc.)
Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Must have excellent reading ability of operation manuals and be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Basic mechanical and electrical skills are a plus.
Must provide some basic tools.
Must be self motivated and work with minimal supervision.
Must to able to safely lift 75 lbs. occasionally.
Able to stand on hard surface most of shift.
Ability to ascend and descend ladders and stairs.
Ability to be trained in LOTO (lock out tag out), Confined Space, Forklift, SCBA, and Hot Works.

Roll paper into loading position on automatic splicer, insert shaft of automatic splicer through roll core, secure holding chucks of automatic splicer to shaft ends, and thread paper through press components to prepare press for printing. Apply adhesive strip to backup roll and insert backup roll onto automatic splicing unit of press to prepare paper for automatic splicing. Remove roll of leftover paper from press after automatic splicing.
May operate mechanical truck to transport rolls of paper to press area. May assist with some of the make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated such as hanging plates, examining plates, prepping and installing blankets, adjusting tension etc. May clean press and clean and install press components to maintain press in working order. May prepare and prepares and loads flat stock into a sheet fed press.
Requires general knowledge of offset presswork procedures and materials. Ability to read and follow job specifications to determine materials needed to run the job successfully.

Position: Hourly $31.24 / hr
SCOPE OF POSITION
The purpose of the Operator Breaker is to operate both plants in a safe, lawful and efficient manner. This includes but is not limited to shutdown, startup, process control, acid transfers. The operator will perform maintenance and reliability duties as scheduled. The incumbent is required to work rotating shift schedules.
