Description of Duties:
Learn and follow Aveda/Estee Lauder Environmental, Health and Safety policies as well as all OSHA rules and regulations.
Follow good safety practices and use good safety work methods like the “seven steps to proper lifting.” For heavier cartons/objects has helper assist using “buddy lifting method.”
Operate plastic bailer and cardboard compactor. Use proper procedures and observe all safety rules when operating and emptying bailer and compactor.
Sets up work area with supplies and keep work area clean. Clean, sweep, organize as needed or directed.
Pick individual products via handsfree Pick-to-Voice technology from loose pick racks and places in cartons which are on roller-conveyor.
Pick cartons, places labels on them and places them on roller conveyor in the case pick area.
Use Pick-to-Voice equipment, RF scanner, RF gun, RF printer and hard-wired printer to perform duties. Follow equipment control procedures and handles equipment properly to minimize damage.
Sort, scan and place cartons on appropriate pallet in the sort-to-stage area.
Build pallets properly using bricklayer method, having heavy boxes on bottom, light packages on top.
Follow proper procedures for palletizing: knowing when to use Euro vs regular pallets, building to proper height, proper segregating using slip-sheets or pallets, etc.
Lift or move cartons up to 50 lbs using proper lifting methods.
Break down empty cartons and assemble new cartons as needed.
Use pallet jack to move pallets.
Use ladder when necessary to perform duties.
Perform other tasks and duties as directed.
High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
1 – 2 years experience in a similar work environment preferred.
SAP, WMS experience preferred.
Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
Ability to stand for eight hours daily. A
bility to read, understand and speak English preferred.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.

As a Mechanic Mechanic on the 2nd shift, you will serve as an assistant to other technicians of the department. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance such as the servicing of hydraulic, air and steam systems and perform other repairs as needed.
Possesses the knowledge of operation of basic hand tools, power tools in general both electrical and pneumatic (power saws, drills, roto hammers, drill press, grinders, abrasive cut off machines), and the ability to keep these tools maintained, clean and in a high state of readiness
Assist mechanics, welders, pipe fitters, plumbers, carpenters, electricians, sheet metal workers, mill rites, block layers and bricklayers as needed and have a basic knowledgeable of these trades
Make minor repairs on general plant machinery such as fans, blowers, conveyors, belts, mechanical and screw conveyors. May also replace V-belts, chains, sprockets, motor couplings, etc.
Complete general assignments in both gas and electrical welds with AC-DC stick welders, burn and braze with oxygen-acetylene set up, to a reasonable degree of strength, accuracy and appearance
Install and maintains general plant piping of steam, air or hydraulic systems, inclusive of following, understanding and installing systems from piping schematics, blue prints, drawing or sketches, with minimum supervision
Maybe required to work as a trainee on higher rated jobs under direction and with the help of higher level mechanics and electricians in order to prepare for future advancement opportunities
Performs all job duties in a safe manner, abiding by all Nestle plant specific safety rules and policies
Participate in and support the BBS process by performing One Minute Observations every week
Actively support participate in all Nestle Purina Programs and Initiatives
Have a basic knowledge of Electrical Safe Work Practices and GMP guidelines to ensure a safe and clean work environment
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):
High School Diploma OR GED Equivalent
1+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, technical, automotive or military environment

GENERAL MANAGER- MAINTENANCE
Responsible for leading the maintenance operations which includes mechanical, electrical, combustion and automotive craftsmen as well as bricklayers at our Reading Operations.
Works with his/her team to ensure the highest levels of safety, environmental compliance and product & service quality, while focusing on optimizing best practices, preventative maintenance, repairs, sustainability, attaining the highest levels of productivity and achieving the lowest cost of production.
This role has a strong emphasis on professional management: budgeting and forecasting, labor & equipment utilization, capital planning, preventative maintenance, and ensuring manufacturing best practices and tools are fully utilized across the maintenance operations.
Oversee and effectively manage maintenance functions that are related to safety, environment, quality performance and maintenance personnel.
Safety: Ensures that equipment and processes meet or exceed Carpenter Standards. Pursue a culture of safety that is best in class and aligns with organizational objectives. Actively engages with the workforce to reinforce safe behaviors.
Environment: Establishes the environment as a priority in maintenance management. Reinforces the need to meet or exceed environmental compliance among maintenance personnel.
Operations Strategy: Develops a maintenance strategy for the maintenance department that identifies maintenance deficiencies and areas of opportunity based on current and systematic processes.
Planning: Ensures the proper processes and tools are utilized to plan maintenance activities: examples include maintenance programs, safety, performance planning/budgeting & forecasting.
Maintenance Analysis and Action Tracking: Ensures that key maintenance data is reviewed and analyzed monthly (i.e. cost items, uptime/downtime, Tons per person-hour, tons per operated hour, etc). Tracks progress against actions and targets. Investigates variances and ensures corrective actions are established and executed.
Problem Solving/Continuous Improvement: Clear understanding and implementation of existing Lean Manufacturing tools that are focused on strategic problem solving and continuous improvement (ie: A3, TPS, 5S, Heijunka, Gemba, JIT, Poka-Yoke, SMART Goals, TPM, Value Stream Mapping, Human Performance(HPI), etc).
Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
Four-year degree preferred with a focus in engineering, technical or related field.
Minimum of 7 year's relevant experience in a leadership/managerial role.
Human Performance experience preferred.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Excellent people management skills; ability to develop effective internal and external relationships.
Disciplined and process-oriented
Prior knowledge in a manufacturing/industrial setting with a strong focus on safety with demonstrated performance, success in change management and human performance along with the ability in building and developing a high-performance team.
Expertise in FMEA concepts to drive predictive/preventative maintenance, equipment prioritization based upon operational impact and overall reliability engineering.

Electrical: Replace breakers; identify, track, and fix different types of shortages; replace light switch/fixture; run an additional electrical line; replace commercial exterior light fixtures.
Carpentry : Install and repair doors and window systems; install and repair kitchen and bathroom cabinets; framing, drywall, tape, and paint; repair wooden interior and exterior stairs as well as wooden fences; repair and replace baseboards and trim.
Flooring: Lay ceramic tile around the bathtub surround; lay vinyl tile; repair wooden floors including sanding and varnish.
Concrete/Roofing: Repair gutters and down spouts; repair cracked sidewalks and stairs; repair flat and shingle roofing; knowledge of tuck pointing and bricklaying a plus.
