POSITION DESCRIPTION: Assist the inspection team leader in the inspections of State owned structures within the District in accordance with requirements specified in the Department's Manual for Bridge and Other Structure Inspection and Reporting and the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS). Identify physical condition of various structural components. Assist in defining and quantifying deficiencies.
Assist the Certified Bridge Inspector (CBI) in charge with the preparation of Inspection and Comprehensive Inventory Data Reports by inputting data into the Department's database. Conducts inspection preparation by collecting information from previous inspections including deficiencies, quantities, channel profiles, site conditions and previous work performed. Reviews Topic F “Field Preparation” in the Bridge Folder and prepares supplies and materials required to perform field inspections.
