Machine Operator Production-3Rd Shift Flex B Operator
$17.55 per hour
Position operates one or multiple pieces of manufacturing equipment. This may include moving raw material handling to the production line, and/or filling, capping, sealing, labeling or packaging product. Removes damaged products or supplies, as needed. Position responsible for production, package, and flavor changeovers. Maintains required product inspection processes. Performs basic troubleshooting and minor repairs to ensure production equipment runs efficiently.
Position requires lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling cases weighing 20-45 pounds per case repeatedly over a long work period. This position requires walking or standing most of the time during the shift and may include stooping, crawling and crouching over and under conveyors. Position may be required to work weekends and/or holidays.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

HELPFUL EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with high speed production lines (e.g., high output, high performance equipment, fast paced production environment, etc.)
- Experience with pallets (e.g., operating a forklift, stacking/bundling product, etc.)
- Experience operating a packing machine (e.g., stacking, bundling, and wrapping product, etc.)
- Experience operating a filler machine (e.g., ensuring right mix of product, operating production computer, etc.)
- Experience operating a palletizer (e.g., building pallets, managing product changeovers, etc.)
- Experience reading blueprints (e.g., read schematics on a machine, understanding production product flow, etc.)
- Experience reading schedules (e.g., products being produced, understanding production requirements, production planning, managing changeovers, etc.)

Role Overview
The Machine Operator I is primarily an entry level machine operator and hardware inspector. Emphasis is placed on cross training between the various Refurb processes and equipment for preparation for advancement to next operator level (Machine Operator II).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Learn all necessary machining operations and understand product flow.
§ Ability to work as a team member with limited supervision.
§ Learn, understand and effectively read blueprints including geometrical dimension and tolerance (GD&T).
§ Learn, perform limited set-up, and operate equipment
Functional/Technical Requirements:
§ Operate machinery/equipment including but not limited to: CNC, Engraver, Scale, Computer, Hardware Press, Drill Press and Bead Blaster.
§ Learn and perform limited set-up of CNC equipment.
§ Operate required gauging to perform and/or inspect work.
§ Stage parts and/or hardware for next operation including breakdown of field returns.
§ Become qualified to perform 1st piece inspections within 6 months of Hire. Continuous
Improvement and Safety
Requirements:
§ Learn, understand and follow established environmental, health and safety standards and procedures while performing daily duties. Is constantly aware of, and looks for, ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace.
§ Learn, understand and effectively follow Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
§ Learn and maintain 5S standards of a clean, organized work area.
§ Utilize Lean Manufacturing tools such as KAS, 5S, TPM, Turn backs and other continuous process improvement tools.

Basic Qualifications:
§ High school diploma or GED equivalency.
§ Ability to obtain a Big Joe License within three months of hire/transfer into the department is required.
§ Ability to obtain a Forklift License within three months of hire/transfer into the department is desired.
Preferred Qualifications:
§ 1 year of experience in CNC machining
§ Ability to satisfactorily complete the Refurb Operator I to II training module. This includes successfully passing the written assessment and practical tests (if applicable).
§ Ability to problem solve and exercise creativity to develop and/or implement practical solutions.
§ Mechanical aptitude desired.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for all activities associated with running a Flexo or Rotary Die Cutter including: setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations.
Sets up and runs the Load Former, feeding the machine
Reviews job tickets, print cards, and quality inspection paperwork with machine Captain
Sets up and operates the pre-feeder.
Reads job order and mounts specified rubber print plate and printing dies on cylinder.
Installs cylinder on shaft, and secures assembly in bed of press.
Fills dye fonts with prescribed inks or dyes.
Moves levers to engage dye rolls, adjusting position of cylinder to print two or more colors without overlapping or smearing previously printed area.
Starts press, adjusting speed, tension, and alignment of printing plate as necessary.
Cuts sample of printed material from end of printed roll and inspects for imperfections, such as blurred or off-center impressions.
Cleans rubber plate, cylinder, and dye fonts, using solvent, and lubricates press as needed, using grease gun.
May mix inks or dyes to produce desired colors.
Sets up rails, print, and die cut section on machinery accurately in accordance with proper setup techniques.
Inspects all dies before and after run to ensure that any necessary repairs are made before the next run.
Ensures all bolts for cutting dies are in place and tightly secured.
Monitor box quality, including, but not limited to, loose liner, warp, correct size, and print.
Checks anilox rolls for damage.
Maximizes the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
Cross trains and assist Helpers, Stackers, and Bundlers with job duties on the machine.
Cross-train on other machines.
Completes necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: Production Data,
Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data. Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
Must be proactive in the maintenance of equipment.
Switches duties with stacker as necessary.
Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.

Purpose of Role:
The role functions as a member of an area team that is directly responsible for the efficient production of quality products in the required quantities. This role will operate specified packaging equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Packaging oprator associates must ensure effeciency, operational conformance, product quality and continous imporvement. This job requires strong communication, interpersonal, and team building skills to support site objectives.
Principal Accountabilities:
Operate packaging equipment in a safe manner that meets or exceed production goals. This includes proper lockout/tag out procedures and changeover procedures.
Understand daily line up and activities in order to run to schedule do changeovers, troubleshoot lines.
Report downtimes to Shift Lead, Maintenance or Supervisor when down times cannot be corrected by operator.
Perform required quality checks and hourly reporting to meet finished product specifications.
Monitor and verify critical control point testing for the packaging area (i.e. metal detection)
Monitor product flow to line so that packaging supplies are available without delay.
Operator is responsible to ensure the packaging machines and supportive equipment (i.e. Klockners, Roberts, palletizer, fillers etc) are maintained both aesthetically and functionally.
Enter work orders into the MIS system as needed and support maintennace on calls.
Ensure completion of packaging reports
Actively participate in FMOS
Maintain 5s principle throughout the site.
Attend all role specific training
Attend all required safety training
Attend all required quality & food safety training
Adhere to all GMP's (bump caps, ear plugs, safety shoes, uniforms, etc)

Machine Operator II - C Shift
The Machine Operation II position is responsible for the safe operation of high speed packaging equipment and ongoing cost effective operations in a multi-shift setting. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Machine Operator II ensures the setup, safe operation, monitoring, cleanliness and quality standards of equipment. Ensures the compliance of all prestart Safety and Quality requirements and sign off of required checklists in order to ensure package integrity and appearance and maximize optimum packaging of finished product, in a world class facility.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Lead and instruct a team of co-workers on each piece of can line equipment.
Be able to perform and instruct co-workers on the proper operations of the can line equipment to include how to set up, make adjustments and perform change overs.
Organize required activities and provide direction to co-workers on the can line and be able to calibrate and make adjustments to the equipment.
Perform all necessary quality checks on all aspects of product including but not limited to seaming and labeling. Perform all necessary quality checks and calibrations of equipment. Visually inspect product for defects, setting aside defective items to one side on a skid for rework. Perform and provide instruction regarding proper sanitation of the can line equipment.
Perform and lead team on all safety checks for the can line equipment.
Ensure proper placement of identification labels on each carton.
Ensure proper documentation of quality checks, case counts, rework, control points for HACCP and trace ability are made.
Communicate with control room on coffee needs and verification and communicate with quality control, the maintenance department and warehouse when needed.
Document film usage, rejected materials and rework.
Verify case counts at the completion of a run.
Make minor repairs and/or adjustments to equipment as needed.
Assist with other packaging lines as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience as a qualified Machine Operator, required.
Must have a demonstrated history of safe work habits
Ability of perform heavy lifting duties as required
Willing to work cooperative in a team environment
