Exide Technologies' new facility near the Kansas City Airport is growing and is searching for production operators with strong mechanical skills, attention to safety and quality, proven attendance record, and great work ethic. Associates will be operating state-of-the-art casting and punch press machinery on a two shift operation. Responsibilities include meeting production goals; following standardized work practices, material handling; quality checks; and embracing lean initiatives.

Production Machine Operator (Nights)
Monday - Thursday
Receives work assignments from Supervisor or Production Assistant.
Sets up the various pieces of equipment or manual operations with assistance at times from engineering or maintenance personnel.
Produces large shunt products using above mentioned equipment, closely following specifications which includes punching or drilling holes, calibrating, welding, soldering, testing and packaging.
Manual operations are also required that might include cutting boards, board attach, manual soldering, attach bushings, scotch brite, deburring, visualing, packaging, etc.
Other duties include moving materials, loading ovens, stabilization, tumbling, washing, drying, making labels, rework, etc.
Use of company computers for the purpose of I-Clock and Prod Info entries are required.
Monitors the quality of all operations to assure the customer gets 100% good quality products.
Follows the rules with regards to LEAN 5S principals. Performs 5S audits on a consistent basis.
Quality is of the utmost importance and consistent communication is required with Supervisor, Production Assistant and Engineering.
Identifies to Supervisor or Production Assistant any specification, equipment or material concerns.
Reports any Safety concerns to Supervisor or Production Assistant.
May be required to work at other Vishay locations in Columbus.
Performs any other related duties as assigned.

The Production Machine Operator individual performs the basic set up and operates automatic machines in accordance with established shop practices. .

About the Production Operator Position
This is a warehouse based position working with sheet metal.
