Set Up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations
Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto/into machines
Measure, examine, or inspect completed parts to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gages, and CMM
Insert program instructions into machine, change programs when necessary to start operation
Review program specifications or blueprints to determine and set machine operations and sequencing, finished work piece dimensions, or numerical control sequences
Adjust machine feed and speed, change cutting tools, or adjust machine controls when automatic programing is faulty or if machines malfunction
Control coolant systems, oil levels, and other cutting fluids required by job
Maintain machines and remove and replace broken or worn machine tools, using hand tools
Confer with supervisors or programmers to resolve machine malfunctions or productions errors to obtain approval to continue production
Clean machines, tooling, or parts using solvents or solutions and rags
Write simple programs for computer controlled machine tools

Performs all the job duties, pre-requisites of the CNC Operator Level I, II, III and can perform all the tasks proficiently. In addition to CNC Level III tasks, the Level I CNC Machinist will perform additional tasks and have additional job knowledge.
Successfully setup proven / existing programs and processes with minimum supervision / guidance
Proficiency in setting up either vertical or horizontal CNC multi axis machining centers or multi turret lathes with multi-part holding fixtures including defining work and tool offsets.
Setup and measurement of tooling in a variety of holders

- Sat 6am – 630pm
Our Manhattan, Montana facility is seeking a Machine Set Up Tech 3 to add to our team. The Machine Set Up Tech 3 is responsible for but not limited to: Technician must possess excellent knowledge of injection molding process, materials, molds and machinery. Technician must maintain molding schedules; evaluate parts based on quality standards and specifications, and assist machine operators as needed. Technician will assist material handler with start and setup procedures. This position supports 32 IMM's with a drive for 90% uptime along with 2 other machine set up technicians of varying experience. This position is a direct supporter/contributor to the success of the Operations Manager and any/all delegated work is expected to positively promote the Blackhawk brand.
Including but not limited to the following
Verify correct set-up of molds, presses, and auxiliary equipment before machine start up.
Establish proper molding conditions.
Perform mold changes and sampling runs according to molding schedule.
Assist with the set-up and maintenance of auxiliary equipment, including granulators, conveyors, liquid temperature controls, and mold electrical controls.
Make minor repairs to machines and equipment and notify proper personnel of necessary major repairs.
Relieve other molding technicians on breaks and in the event of absenteeism.
Train and assist machine operators
Responsible for adherence to Quality Specifications for all products.
Follow and promote all safety and environmental procedures

The Set-up Operator title is an umbrella title that covers many specific job titles in the Set-up area. Ideally, under general supervision, each Set-up Operator should be trained and able to perform all of the subtitles under this umbrella title, which includes:
