About the Position:
Under direct supervision engaged in line construction and maintenance on electric transmission circuits above 69 kV which require the use of a complete set of live line tools, to patrol and inspect transmission lines for faulty operation; to do all types of work involved in the construction, operation and maintenance of transmission circuits and to assist Live Line Bare Hand Specialists in various line associated tasks including the work on energized circuits.
Must have a minimum of eighteen months experience as a Transmission Line Worker "C" First Class in Transmission Line Construction or equivalent.
Must have a thorough knowledge of transmission line practices and standards and of the electric system in the area to which the employee is assigned a good knowledge of the fundamental theory relating to line work, and ability to read operating one line diagrams and construction prints.
Line worker must have a total of five years in Transmission Line Construction progression, or equivalent.
Should have successfully completed the Company prescribed hot stick training on voltages above 69 kV and be qualified in the use of a complete set of live line tools.
Must have passed the validated Physical Abilities Evaluation.
Must have passed the validated aptitude test
Must successfully complete Live Line Bare Hand Training as provided by the company, within the last year of progression.
Must hold a valid NYS CDL Class A license.

Line Worker (Traditions)
The Line Worker position is responsible for placing controlled portions of food or packaged food in designated trays or container/box on a production line. May help set up production lines to run or pack meals.
Less than high school education; previous manufacturing experience preferred
Must have the ability to perform basic math calculations such as add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Must be able to understand and follow both written and oral instructions to ensure guidelines and procedures are followed.
Must be able to communicate with others.
Must be able to follow the food safety practices.
Must be able to adapt to various positions on the line as assigned.
Knowledge of and experience in practicing proper safety standards in handling food and equipment is preferred.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL EFFORTS
Physical demand level is moderate, with 30 pounds of lifting on a regular basis with intermittent bending, stooping, pushing and pulling. Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours a day on concrete flooring.
Works with close supervision. Encounter periods of concentration with attention to detail. Uses discretion and maintains confidentiality concerning employees, clients, customers, vendors, and other company business.
The Line Worker is directly supervised by the Production Supervisor and may also receive instructions from the Line Lead. This position has no responsibilities in management or personnel supervision.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Environment is in a frozen food manufacturing plant. Works most of the workday indoors; however, sudden and extreme changes in temperature may occur. The typical temperature indoors most days is around 45 degrees. Must be able to work flexible hours.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE:

Assist with the start up of the production line
Collect and maintain supplies needed for task
Place trays in correct position to drop on tray line
Place appropriate portion of food in correct location on tray as it is moving down the line
Inspect meals regularly to see that food portions are falling in correct tray slot
Inspects regularly to see packaged food items are placed correctly within a box or package
Observe plastic film is being properly sealed on trays after coming under heated rolls
Remove completed meals/trays at the end of the line and place in correct storage box or basket
Collect and dispose of trash in proper designated areas as needed
Notifies line leader of debris/food so it can be removed from floor on a continuous basis
Assist in cleaning any equipment during meal change or at the end of the shift
Follow all safety policies and procedures
Wear appropriate safety equipment as required by departmental regulations
Notify line leader or supervisor on a timely basis of problems
Maintain workplace professionalism

Minimum and Additional
Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of responsible, training-related experience or an associate's degree and a minimum of five (5) years of responsible, training-related experience. Ability to communicate effectively with business and industry representatives, students, faculty, staff and the general public. Our Verizon Wireline technicians will be working in teams of two or more to perform work associated with installation, removal and rearranging outside plant facilities. You will have the opportunity to connect wires and cables to terminals and attach or detach various kinds of hardware to wires, cables and poles. While driving a Company vehicle to and from each work location, you will perform important work that contributes to connecting our millions of customers on the best network. This opportunity is a temporary assignment lasting up to 30 months and includes benefits.
Dismantle, move or remove aerial, underground or building wire, cable, associated equipment, poles and hardware related to the outside telephone plant.
Perform construction work, such as digging holes, placing and removing poles, laying cable, unreeling, pulling and stringing wire and cable from pole to pole.
Climb poles and ladders, to remove and rearrange equipment.
Work in remote and rough terrain locations.
