This position is responsible for supporting production by means of direct labor to build product while meeting production goals and maintaining quality standards. This colleague must be capable of demonstrating the behaviors consistent with the values of the Tower International's MVV Statement. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Wears all required safety equipment and ensures area and environment is safe
Operates, monitors and helps maintain machine/equipment (press, welders, cranes, forklifts etc)
Feeds equipment and tooling
Performs or assists in die changes
Move parts and product to appropriate positions
Lift/push/pull parts weighing at times anywhere from 10-35 lbs
Stand, walk, and move into and out of the work area
Perform daily operational checks to ensure safety
Perform quality checks and verify quality (first, middle and last offs, PQI books, SPC etc.)
Assist quality and maintenance personnel with issues related to production
Conduct daily cleaning of the work area
Repair product as required
Operate machinery as required
Identify and document problems, sets goals, tracks progress and works with teams to implement solutions
Report issues and concerns to the Team Leader or Supervisor
Basic understanding of Quality Management System and Environmental Management System standards
Watch for potential concerns or issues
Train other operators and document training in matrix
Be self directed and encourage continuous improvement through involvement and input
Clean and organize area, keep free of clutter and safety hazards – 6S
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: Previous manufacturing experiences a plus.
Training and Skills:
Ability to complete visual quality inspections
Ability to read and follow written work instructions and safety guidelines.
Good verbal communication skills as evidenced in peer relations.
Ability to work independently at multiple stations as a member of the production team
Ability to lift/pull/push loads of 10-35 lbs at an expected rate
Ability to work in an upright/standing position for up to 5 hours at a time
Ability to operate production line equipment including a weld tool and rivet guns

CNC Turret Press Operator - 1St Shift
This position is responsible to operate the CNC Turret Punch and CNC Brake Presses and support the production team, including New Product Introduction. Plan, layout and perform fabricating and assembly operations on sheet metal products, operate machinery, punch, press or saw metal products to meet business demands. Produce a variety of parts to meet the dimensional specifications of the mechanical engineered drawings. Must be able to handle a fast-paced environmental with a high volume workload.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Set-up and Operate a turret punch press and Brake Press. Prima Finn or Amada experience required (or like type of turret)
Understands program format, works from operational data defining and coding tooling and machine arrangements.
Arranges, mounts and secures tooling in turret.
Calls up program in machine control and correlates machine position with program
Manually cycles machine through operational sequence to check work holder positions, tooling, clearances and speeds.
Adjust machine from console to correct deviations from program specifications.
Ensures strict tolerance requirements are maintained in the manufacture of parts.
Recognizes, reports and works closely with programming personnel to correct errors.
Recommend tooling applications and operations sequence to assist in developing practical programming for new and unusual punching requirements.
Diagnose minor repairs
Perform first piece inspection. Segregates and reports defects produced.
Promotes and supports the maintenance of a safe, accident-free and healthy work environment
Supports and maintains machine maintenance procedures
Maintains tools library and recommends sharpening and maintenance of tools and guides.

JOB TITLE: Wide Web Flexographic Press Operator
THIS POSITION WILL PRINT COLOR IMAGES ON FILM MADE FOR FOOD PACKAGING.
Seeking Flexographic press operators with experience on modern press technology. Experience on a W&H Vista Flex CI 10 color press preferred.
Candidates with prior multi-color printing experience on large presses will be considered.
This is an opportunity to work on new, state-of-the art film printing presses.
Correctly build up production orders and doctor blade assemblies
Change and match inks for production
Load and unload material from the presses using defined equipment
Install/remove press cylinders, sleeves and anilox rolls as required for each production order.
Set-up and print all formulation for the Rollstock product line.
Perform all required quality checks prior to producing all production orders to ensure a product can be processed at the next stage of the manufacturing process.
Make and pump adhesive for production orders.
Install/remove laminator sleeves as required for each production order.
Follow all safety rules and procedures.

Setup and operate CNC machines (i.e. lasers, machining centers, grinders, saw's and press-brakes ). Use a variety of measuring tools, (calipers, micrometers, height gage, granite table, protractor and tape measure) and blue- prints to inspect, understand and maintain established tolerances.
SPECIFIC & ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Properly complete daily labor reports, material move tickets and scrap tickets.
Follow routings and properly complete associated paperwork in accordance with set procedures.
Setup and operate CNC machine tools to produce parts meeting blueprint specifications and tolerances.
Perform first piece inspect of manufactured parts to meet blue-print specifications and tolerances, and adjust setups accordingly to ensure a quality product is produced.
Train new operators in the setup and operation of CNC machine as required.

Perform visual and dimensional inspection of castings using statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
Mark defects and discard defective castings into the designated scrap hopper.
Notify supervisor or quality assurance inspector, as appropriate.
Load castings into nest assemble of trim press and initiate machine cycle.
Follow cycle transfer castings to shipping container.
Remove fins and other irregularities from casting using chipper hammer, pedestal grinder, and hand-held grinders, if required.
Adjust and change cutter head to proper specifications as necessary and record data on tool life.
Arrange for machine repairs by contacting supervisor or maintenance department personnel.
Operate fork truck as required.

Supports the manufacturing process by performing forming operation on press brakes of fabricated sheet metal parts for products in a safe and efficient manner to provide high quality parts for work cells and allow our team to meet scheduled demands.
Maintains clean, orderly work area to support others as well as safety, quality, etc.
Works in teams to accomplish overall goals regarding safety, efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Sets up and operates hydraulic press to accomplish production goals.
Observes environment to insure safe working conditions are present and corrects or reports issues that need attention.
Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
Calculates and sets controls to regulate machine and enters commands to edit program in order to accomplish quality production goals.
Confirms accuracy of first set ups regarding size, shape, forming sequence, etc., using test pieces and again with first production piece and at subsequent intervals.
Determines sequence of operations, applying knowledge and experience, to determine best method to achieve completion of part(s) in a safe and high quality manner.
Initiates activity that supports department and team goals and anticipates needs and takes steps to create smooth production process.
Pays attention to PPE and JSA guidelines when using equipment, tools, and materials to be handled, to insure personal and environmental safety.
Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
Verifies dimensions and angles by using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks.
Works as team to accomplish production efficiencies, prevent excess tooling set-up, etc.
Identifies proper materials, plans, equipment, etc., to accomplish production specifications.
Sets up press brake and gauging system and forms desired parts using drawings and/or forming sheets.
Communicates effectively within manufacturing cell to relay key information to accomplish daily production goals.
Retrieves, inputs, interprets drawings and other data found in computer system.
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance results, and adjusts machine controls or control settings as required.
Implements production practices that support and meet ISO standards by following forming sheets and confirming specifications are met.
Inspects work piece for defects, quality related exceptions, and judges condition and action to be taken.
Makes adjustments to production machine to generate the desired dimensions of specific parts.
Positions work manually against stops to align layout marks to dies.
Repositions work piece and changes dies when making multiple or successive passes.
Serves as a positive role model in the work place.
Sets up and operates conventional and special-purpose machines to fabricate materials that conform to production specifications.
Selects and positions flat, V-block, radius, or special purpose die sets into ram and bed of machine.
Focuses on key production goals and be open to asking for and accepting suggestions from others regarding production quality, steps, etc.
Operates various machines in the production process using manual and computerized controls, gauges, hand tools, etc.
Receives verbal instructions, reads production board, or confers with supervisor for work instructions.
Troubleshoots work-related problems by applying knowledge and experience to effectively maintain production/quality goals with minimal attrition to equipment.
Utilizes bar code system for tracking production information, time keeping, etc.
Utilizes computer (SAP) system shared plant-wide to accomplish and track production data.
Works overtime and week-ends when needed to accomplish production goals.
Maintains awareness of equipment condition, performs scheduled maintenance, to slow equipment attrition and maintain high quality production.
Suggests improvements in work methods and procedures by speaking with supervisor(s) and joining PPI teams when possible.
Communicates with other departments to accomplish production goals and assists other departments when asked to do so.
Confers with other operators, engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
Starts press and monitors machine operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.
Determines production rate by calculating parts present upon completion of job and comparing to OPS card.
Measures, counts, organize materials and parts to monitor production quality and volume.
Participates on Continuous Quality Improvement and supports PPI projects.
Trains others on job duties, quality goals, company guidelines, etc.
Turns hand wheel or levers to set depth and pressure of ram stroke.
Operates hand tools such as sander, drills, hammer, etc., to accomplish department goals in a safe manner utilizing PPE/JSA guidelines.
Cleans scale or scrap from die with air hose or brush to achieve quality.
Grinds out burrs and sharp edges, using portable grinder.
Moves finished pieces to storage area using pallet jacks, two-wheelers, or caster based racks, etc.

Attends training and department meetings when asked to do so.
Participates in teams and utilizes Excel spreadsheets, charts, graphs, data analysis.

High School Diploma/GED
One to three years experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication or industrial setting.
Previous experience with sheet metal and/or press brake operations is preferred.
Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds individually and occasionally lift greater than 75 pounds with assistance.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, kneel, reach, lift repetitively in a hectic, noisy environment in hot, cold conditions, with airborne dust/fumes present while paying special attention to critical processes.
Ability to maneuver work pieces by hand in a repetitive manner conductive to efficiency, job specifications, safety, and quality goals.
Ability to manually move machine controls using hand and foot guides to adjust machine for accuracy.
Ability to distinguish basic colors and shapes when running CNC punch press.
Ability to maintain basic knowledge of SAP and Windows Operating System.
Minimum assessment on ACT WorkKeys of Observation Level 5 and Locating Information Level 4 will be preferred.
