This position is responsible for supporting production by means of direct labor to build product while meeting production goals and maintaining quality standards. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Wears all required safety equipment and ensures area and environment is safe
Operates, monitors and helps maintain machine/equipment (press, welders, cranes, forklifts etc)
Feeds equipment and tooling
Performs or assists in die changes
Move parts and product to appropriate positions
Lift/push/pull parts weighing at times anywhere from 10-35 lbs
Stand, walk, and move into and out of the work area
Perform daily operational checks to ensure safety
Perform quality checks and verify quality (first, middle and last offs, PQI books, SPC etc.)
Assist quality and maintenance personnel with issues related to production
Conduct daily cleaning of the work area
Repair product as required
Operate machinery as required
Identify and document problems, sets goals, tracks progress and works with teams to implement solutions
Report issues and concerns to the Team Leader or Supervisor
Basic understanding of Quality Management System and Environmental Management System standards
Watch for potential concerns or issues
Train other operators and document training in matrix

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: Previous manufacturing experiences a plus.
Training and Skills:
Ability to complete visual quality inspections
Ability to read and follow written work instructions and safety guidelines.
Good verbal communication skills as evidenced in peer relations.
Ability to work independently at multiple stations as a member of the production team
Ability to lift/pull/push loads of 10-35 lbs at an expected rate
Ability to work in an upright/standing position for up to 5 hours at a time
Ability to operate production line equipment including a weld tool and rivet guns
Maintain a good attendance record

Auto Press and Manual Press Operator Responsibilities
- Operate screen printing press including set-up, printing & tear down of jobs with attention to detail, quality of print, accuracy and speed.
- Read and complete work orders accurately.
- Identify and troubleshoot common screen printing problems.
- Clean equipment including removing ink from screens, squeegees, press & tools.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area at all times as well as promoting safety and cleanliness.
- Provide leadership for production assistants to ensure that they are performing tasks in an efficient and productive manner.

Setup and operate CNC machines (i.e. lasers, machining centers, grinders, saw's and press-brakes ). Use a variety of measuring tools, (calipers, micrometers, height gage, granite table, protractor and tape measure) and blue- prints to inspect, understand and maintain established tolerances.
SPECIFIC & ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Properly complete daily labor reports, material move tickets and scrap tickets.
Follow routings and properly complete associated paperwork in accordance with set procedures.
Setup and operate CNC machine tools to produce parts meeting blueprint specifications and tolerances.
Perform first piece inspect of manufactured parts to meet blue-print specifications and tolerances, and adjust setups accordingly to ensure a quality product is produced.
Train new operators in the setup and operation of CNC machine as required.
Perform to an established methods and standards; meeting or exceeding the departments quality and productivity goals.
Train to be proficient on various machines with moderate supervisor and or crew leader instruction.
Communicate well with others and work in a manner to support a team environment.
Responsible for communicating to Supervisor and or crew leader all machine related issues (i.e. machine down or damage to equipment) and or part availability.
Perform to company standard 5's program.
Overtime may be frequent in this position.

The employee must be able to perform basic mathematics and have good understanding of fractions and numbers to three decimal places. Read and understand blue-prints, have the ability to follows charts and tables.
Must have experience with the use of measuring tools (i.e. calipers, protractors, height gages and micrometers).
Must be able to lift up to 40lb. and more with assistance.
Knowledge and ability in all applicable nesting operations.
Knowledge and ability in Oracle shop floor control such as:

Material move transactions
View discrete orders
Change nozzle assembly
Components (top and bottom)
Ability to change cutting parameters and assist engineer in the development of new parameters.
Lens replacement, cleaning and re-focusing
Aid crew lead when receiving steel if not unloading machines
Operators must be able to:
Verify thickness and quantity of steel per shipment order
Enter steel number, quantity, date, length and width of steel in the line controller
Enter the same information above into Optimation
Enter orders in line controller
Diagnose and resolve any FMS alarms
Periodic checks of steel sizes at the unload table
Report any machine downtime
Replace grates every 30 days and perform daily check sheets
Develop part program with sequences to run parts safely and efficiently
Call up and modify (if necessary) an existing program to run parts

Perform visual and dimensional inspection of castings using statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
Mark defects and discard defective castings into the designated scrap hopper.
Notify supervisor or quality assurance inspector, as appropriate.
Load castings into nest assemble of trim press and initiate machine cycle.
Follow cycle transfer castings to shipping container.
Remove fins and other irregularities from casting using chipper hammer, pedestal grinder, and hand-held grinders, if required.
Adjust and change cutter head to proper specifications as necessary and record data on tool life.
Arrange for machine repairs by contacting supervisor or maintenance department personnel.
Operate fork truck as required.
